Cancer New Moon awakens past life memories

PALM SPRINGS — When Michael Boatwright woke up in the emergency room at Desert Regional Medical Center, the nurses began asking him questions for which it became clear he had no answers. The gray-haired, soft-spoken man looked at his identity card and didn’t recognize his own face. He answered only to Johan Ek.

The sign Cancer is a Water sign and is often shown as a body of  Water.  Since ancient times Water as an element has been associated with the psyche. One of the functions of the psyche is to act as a storage for memories.

The map for the current New Moon in Cancer at Palm Springs is shown above. The New Moon is not only in Cancer (fourth sign)  but  also in the fourth house which is a double whammy.

The two references below tell us  (a) the meaning of the fourth house and (b) the significance of a Cancer New Moon.

The 4th house in the horoscope represents your roots. It is the family environment that you grew up at, it is the family atmosphere that you create in your own family, and yet, it is so much more. Each child is born with memories of past lives, past experiences, and people with a strong 4th house hear the memories of their race, its history (the real one, not the one in the history books), their nation’s past hopes and fears and its values.

Emotional memories can return. It may seem like it, but this is NOT to make you miserable. Revisiting old emotions now, at the Cancer New Moon, can CLEAR subconscious memories that are casting shadows and doubt on your goals and preventing you from doing what your heart desires – what feels right. These emotions can be holding you back from your sense of well-being. Or, they can be guarding you, keeping you feeling safe and secure. Now it’s time to decide if you need the protection or you’re ready to step out of your comfort zone…. Yet, this NEW MOON can be the beginning of reconciling your past, releasing long-trapped emotional tape loops, and that can allow your emotions to move forward.

But why was this drama taking place in Palm Springs? Mundane astrology recognizes that (a) lunations (New Moons or Full Moons) that occur on the horizon or meridian axes are very powerful and (b) should they also be in hard aspects to difficult planetary configurations , the energies of those planets will show up in events. In this case we can see that the New Moon took place on the IC opposite Pluto on MC and square Uranus on the Ascendant.  A key phrase for Pluto-Uranus  from Martha Wescott is:

Pluto-Uranus:  To see (disruptive)  behaviour based on emergent (formerly repressed) psychological content
