Judge in California
orders serial rapist's release
A man who raped and assaulted at least 40 women has
been ordered to live in a remote California
community, despite objections from residents there. Christopher Evans Hubbart,
who police believe may have had as many as 100 victims, will rent a small house
in a rural area near the city of Palmdale .

We start by
looking at the chart of current New Moon
eclipse at Santa Clara .
Notice the powerful placement of the ‘transformative’ Grand Cross on the meridian axis. Why
transformative? Well, firstly because a key phrase for Uranus-Pluto is ‘endings and new beginnings’
and secondly because eclipses are also about just that! The Mars-Pluto element
of the Cross has a difficult side that is frequently linked to sexual
abuse, rape, suicide and murder. But let us also fail to notice that the dispositor for Mars in Libra on the
MC is Venus which is not only in the compassionate
and forgiving sign Pisces but conjunct the asteroid Clementia (252). In Roman
mythology, Clementia was the goddess of forgiveness and mercy.
This is
confirmed when we progress the eclipse chart to May 23, the date of the news. The
transformative Grand Cross reaches the horizon axis on that date. On the
progressed MC [5sc57] of the progressed chart are the stars of the Virgin
(“Justica”), the redemptive Centaur [*] and Crux, the Southern Cross so that
all anger, suffering and sorrow can be healed, all sins forgiven [2]. In
addition, the MC is trine the Neptune [7pi]. Writing
about the stars in this area [5-7pi], Diana Rosenberg states, “Here the Great
urn of Aquarius, with its eternally flowing, all-forgiving waters of heaven,
purifies and cleanses all sins”. [3]
Finally,
the last bit of push towards compassion and forgiveness comes from the water
trine between Jupiter (in Cancer) and Saturn (in Scorpio) on May 24. While the Jupiter and Saturn functions are
natural opposites, the trine brings a
time when the expansive energy symbolized by Jupiter naturally balances the
rigid and limiting energy of Saturn. The
Saturnian qualities of discipline and harshness are tempered by Jupiterian
compassion. The highest potential of Jupiter trine Saturn is reached when we
appreciate the inherently beneficent nature of the universe, while at the same
time recognize the need for discipline and the law in the restraint of immature egos. It is only then that we can temper discipline
with an attitude of generosity and forgiveness toward others.

[*] In her
book “A Nietzschean Bestiary: Becoming
Animal Beyond Docile and Brutal”, Christa Davis Acampora explains why the mythical centaur is an important figure in our
evolutionary journey:
Nietzsche
praised the need for the embodiment of
great opposing forces of culture in an individual’s life – and he dreamt of the
cultural genius in these terms “he is a centaur, half human, half animal”.
Nietzsche believed that a humanising
transformation of animality should blossom into a redemption and not a rejection
of the animal part.
