US spying creates rift with Germany

In what amounts to a diplomatic earthquake, Berlin has asked the country's top CIA official to leave Germany. The measures comes in response to the second allegation in a week of a German government employee spying for the US.

Marking its most vocal response yet to the United States for alleged spying and a tough new tone, the government in Berlin asked Washington's top CIA official in Germany to leave the country on Thursday (July 10) . The news followed a meeting of the Parliamentary Control Panel (PKGR) in the federal parliament responsible for scrutiny of intelligence services. http://bit.ly/1zrPZ0h

Mundane Astrology is the  study of the effects of Equinoxes, Solstices, Lunations, Eclipses, planetary conjunctions and similar celestial phenomena as applied not to individuals but to nations and large communities. Shown here is the chart for the Full Moon of July at Berlin. Notice that it is extremely powerful for the place since it aligns with the meridian axis and is part of a Grand Cross that occupies the angles.  Richard Tarnas connects “earthquakes” to Uranus-Pluto squares. This can be actual or metaphorical as in our case here.  Martha Wescott provides the following keyphrases for Uranus-Pluto:

Change or unexpected reactions based on resentment, ultimatums or threats to control; power struggles with friends; sudden events bring about large scale changes; to see individuals disconnect or distance themselves from others as a form of control of events.

Here we have Uranus in the 7th house which in Mundane astrology rules foreign affairs and  relations with other countries. With an afflicted Uranus here foreign affairs become very complicated and troublesome; enmity, rivalry and disagreement are incurred. [1]

The Full Moon of July 12 is a special Full Moon called a “Supermoon”. The scientific name for this is a lunar perigee and it is known to bring high tides and heightened emotions so what we are seeing in Berlin is an increased sensitivity to the spying issue. But why spying? We don’t have to look very far for a clue. Notice Saturn in Scorpio – the sign of spies and secrets – makes a stressful quincunx aspect to Uranus in the 7th.

There is never just one indicator for an important event or accident. So here too in addition to the Full Moon, we find that the progressed Cancer Ingress chart has Uranus-Pluto-Mars T-square aligned with the angles for July 10, the date of the news.
