Police
in the besieged nation have been confronted with its worst period of violence
and civil unrest since the days of Hitler's Nazis as anger over Angela Merkel's
open door policy reaches boiling point. The
spectre of the 1930's Third Reich brown shirts looms large as far right
protestors are openly conducting running battles in the street targeting
refugees - as well as journalists and politicians who support their cause - in
brutal attacks.
Moderate
politicians have been drowned out at rallies and one was even stabbed in the
throat by a neo-Nazi madman, leading a top German magazine to declare:
"The hate is back." Security
sources in Germany, which has taken in more migrants and refugees than any
other European country, say they have seen a sharp rise in violence linked to

A horoscope
of modern Germany [1] based on its re-unification
( 3 October 1990, 12:00 am CET, Berlin)
will be used here to explain the “refugee
crisis” besieging the nation. Notice
that the Ascendant [4le] is conjunct the South Node [4le] and Jupiter [8le] and makes a hard aspect to
Moon[18pi] in Pisces. Currently the progressed Sun [4sc] is square the
Ascendant [4le] triggering the entire configuration.
A
Moon-Jupiter combination or Moon in Pisces tends towards a caring, emotional
expansivesness. We get a picture of a sympathetic character who reacts and
responds in broad generous terms. With the hard aspects the problem is a
tendency to over-react and over-respond and to make promises that one cannot
possibly keep. With the South Node conjunct Jupiter generosity, over-reaching
and self-importance can be one’s undoing [2]. With Moon in hard aspect to the
South Node one may resent being defined by the needs of others. Notice that
this is exactly what we are seeing in Germany right now with Merkel and a
significant number of Germans welcoming the refugees while another section
of Right Wing groups angry at the open
door policy.
Now let us
stop for a moment and look at the stars that form the backdrop to the
Ascendant, South Node and Jupiter. The
stars here are xi Puppis of Argo and Praesepe, M44 Cancri, “The Beehive”. Nick Fiorenza explains the connection of this
area of stars with migration and migrants.
Praesepe embodies the essence of the Scarab
/ Cancer theme: emergence out of the antiquated dogmatic entrapments we had
been living in, and our migration or new birth. Praesepe is of new beginnings,
shedding old skins, skeletons, and cocoons. It is of emerging out of the
frenetic confusion of mass consciousness; finding our new path and direction;
leaving behind old dwellings and the structures of consciousness they
represent; and getting out of our personal or collective dogmas and the
darkness they create. The issue here is about making the move.
Alignments with Praesepe may indicate a new
dwelling place is at hand or that one is in order to find. As with the
migration of bees from an old hive, before identifying their new direction,
there can be frenetic confusion at first, a scattered sense and lack of
direction before moving toward their new home. This is temporary and is part of
intuiting the feeling for the right direction, much like turning in a complete
circle to identify the way that feels right. Praesepe asks us to trust in our
magnetic sense, on our inner compass, and to hone in on our new direction while
honoring the inherent confusion of the emergence process.
So as the
German nation is being asked to shed or refine its old attitudes, it is physically being inundated
by migrants! What beautiful synchronicity!!
