A
recent YouGov poll revealed that a growing number of American millennials
prefer socialism to capitalism, apparently favoring the very ideology that has
long been considered one of the greatest threats to the United States. According
to an opinion poll conducted by YouGov at the behest of the Victims of
Communism Memorial Foundation, nearly half of the millennials in the United
States favored socialism over capitalism. Nov 4 https://sptnkne.ws/fRZq
To explain the news , in this post we explore the
sociopolitical ramifications of the Saturn-Neptune square of 2015-2016. About
the Saturn-Neptune cycle, Nick Fiorenza writes:
In the sociopolitical arena, Saturn-Neptune
cycles are about the ebb and flow of more conservative, controlling and
authoritarian ideals. This Saturn-Neptune square marks entry into the last
quarter of our current Saturn-Neptune synodic cycle, arousing an "inner
impetus to create change," unlike the 90° square (December 2, 1998), our
external stimulus for action. Our opportunity as we enter and move into the
last quarter of this cycle is to first recognize that the structures we have
created in our lives and the limits those structures impose are the
solidification of ideologies we began to formulate starting in 1989. It impels
us to begin to consciously make changes in our lives based upon realizations we
have had about what did and did not work in practicality.
Simply, the structures
we have built in our lives and in the world can no longer support our shifting
ideologies. Neptune's movement from Sagittarius, at the start of the
Saturn-Neptune-Uranus cycles, through Capricorn and into and through Aquarius,
inspires a shift in our ideologies to evolve a more mature altruistic-based
societal structure concerned with the fundamental nourishment and survival of
humanity.
In 2016, the waning Saturn-Neptune square had the Saturn leg
conjunct the US Sibly Ascendant with Neptune square it, implying that its full force is being felt by
the common people (ruled by the Ascendant). The Saturn Neptune cycle has a
specific purpose which is designated by
their opposite natures. The Saturnian archetype concerns all structures
including on the personal ego level and collectively; especially governments and corporations but
this also includes money systems and social structures. Structures imply
barriers and the delimitation of space by time. Neptune expresses the desire
and need to go beyond everything that is Saturn – to unify, not differentiate,
to break down barriers and not erect them. Saturn focuses more on what is
practical within the parameters of what is known while Neptune encapsulates
more the collective yearnings for a more ideal and utopian world, a different
world or ‘anything but this’ that is outside the current paradigm.
The survey reveals that “a growing number of American
millennials prefer socialism to capitalism, apparently favoring the very
ideology that has long been considered one of the greatest threats to the
United States”. This too can be seen in the US Sibly. Uranus [27ar] is
currently transiting through the 5th house (younger generation)
square Pluto [27cp] in the 2nd . Ebertin refers to Uranus-Pluto as “the
collapse of an old order and the beginning of a new one”. In Capricorn, Pluto
is bringing about the disintegration of governments and social paradigms while
the square from rebellious Uranus in the 5th is hinting at where the
desire for change is coming from.
