Venus-Pluto and the death of the petrodollar

The birth of Venus, 1496

Sandro Boticelli

For decades, the US has been able to exclude virtually any country it wants from international trade. Right now, if one country wants to trade with another, it basically needs US permission first. That’s because (for a short while longer) the US dollar is the world’s most important currency. The US Navy also dominates the world’s oceans, controlling most major shipping lanes. But China is building a new international system. Eventually, it will let China and its trading partners totally bypass the US. The Shanghai International Energy Exchange is introducing a crude oil futures contract denominated in Chinese yuan. It will allow oil producers to sell their oil for yuan. China knows most oil producers don’t want a large reserve of yuan. So producers will be able to efficiently convert it into physical gold through gold exchanges in Shanghai and Hong Kong. As of March 26, countries around the world will have a genuine, viable way to opt out of the petrodollar system. https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-03-21/china-days-away-killing-petrodollar

In an effort to maintain global demand for U.S. dollars, a system was created called the petrodollar system. In 1973, a deal was struck between Saudi Arabia and the United States in which every barrel of oil purchased from the Saudis would be denominated in U.S. dollars. Under this new arrangement, any country that sought to purchase oil from Saudi Arabia would be required to first exchange their own national currency for U.S. dollars. In exchange for Saudi Arabia’s willingness to denominate their oil sales exclusively in U.S. dollars, the United States offered weapons and protection of their oil fields from neighboring nations, including Israel.

In 1973 when this secret deal was being worked out by the US, solar arc progressed Sun was conjunct its radix  Pluto [27cp] in the 2nd house.

In an essay entitled Pluto and the US Chart – An Eruption of Darkness, Lynn Hayes wrote:

Pluto’s rule in the astrological pantheon is to take us deep into the Underworld and reveal all of the dark and nasty corners of the psyche in order to illuminate that darkness and therefore aid in the process of personal evolution. Pluto is the Lord of Death – he causes obsession and has the potential to bring out the worst in us but also the best in us.  Pluto’s placement in the chart shows where we can be undone by our own psychology, but also where we can be transformed and reborn.
In the astrological chart for the United States (I use the “Sibley” chart and here’s why), Pluto is in the second house of money.  Pluto, as the ruler of the underworld, represents the shadow side of the psyche, whether in an individual chart or the chart of a nation.  With Pluto in the second house of money and finance, the American shadow is a dirty little secret – an obsession (Pluto) with the power that money can provide (second house).  http://www.astrodynamics.net/pluto-us-chart-eruption-darkness/

If we examine the transit of outer planets  in 1973 Pluto [3li] and Saturn [3cn] were hitting Venus [3cn] in the Sibly 8th house. Pluto is about manipulation and control while Venus rules money. More specifically, Venus in the 8th house of a nation’s chart is about financial relations with foreign countries. With Jupiter and Venus placed in the Sibly 8th house, the US was positioned to profit immensely from international finance and became the world’s banker so to speak.

In the last few years, Pluto has been transiting opposite the Sun-Venus-Jupiter conjunction in the US Sibly . Among other things a Venus-Jupiter combination refers an extravagant or indulgent lifestyle so that it is no surprise that the US has  run up a debt of $21 trillion. One and half Saturn cycle from 1973 we now have karmic Saturn opposing the Sibly Venus-Jupiter conjunction. Time is up. The consequences of having gone down the wrong road must be faced. Who else but  China [Oct.1, 1949; 3:06 pm,Beijing] with its radix Sun [7li] – Uranus [4cn] in hard aspect to the Sibly Venus [3cn]-Jupiter[6cn] has been called in to dethrone the US from its number one position.

China will list local-currency crude futures in Shanghai on March 26, according to the nation's securities regulator. Just two days before this date a Venus-Pluto square aligns with the meridian at Shanghai.

Venus essentially symbolizes the factor of “value”. The Venusian function enables man to discriminate between that which has value and that which is valueless. Since Pluto rules “death” and “regeneration” the concept of money is going through a death and revaluation phase. So it is indeed appropriate that the Venus-Pluto square should be significantly placed at Shanghai!

But please remember that the Venus-Pluto square can be brought to the angles by any significant mundane event. As for example, the chart for Mercury station retrograde of March 22, also brings the Venus-Pluto  to the angles at Washington, DC  suggesting that the US is about to be affected by the square in ways mentioned above.

In the foregoing we saw that the Sibly Venus [3cn] is caught between China’s radix Uranus [4cn] and transiting Saturn [3cp]. According to Greek myth, Venus was born from a struggle between Saturn (Cronus) and Uranus – in other words a fight between the old (Saturn) and the new (Uranus).
