History in the stars: The murder of Czar Nicholas II

The 100 year anniversary of the brutal murder of the Tsar's family, July 16-17, is approaching. Dignitaries from around the world will join the Patriarch in Ekaterinburg in a massive procession to commemorate the tragedy.

A horoscope of Czar Nicholas II as provided by Astro-databank [1] is reproduced here. The following points from the chart describe the Czar we know him.

1.       Tropical Libra rising  is a person of refined character, disliking confrontation and perhaps a bit indecisive or weak as often portrayed by historians.

2.       On the Ascendant  are the stars of the Virgin about which Manilius wrote:

   3.      The temperaments of those whose span of life she pronounces at their birth Erigone will direct to study, and she will train their minds in the learned arts. On them she will confer a tongue which charms, the mastery of words, and that mental vision which can discern all things, however concealed they be by the mysterious workings of nature. From the Virgin will also come the stenographer.

4.       It is said that  Nicholas  began keeping a daily diary at 14, uninterrupted until his death, leaving 50 notebooks in his neat handwriting filled with prose that sounded like poetry. Nicholas did not enjoy public life another quality typical of the stars of the Virgin on the Ascendant.

5.       Nicholas has his radix Sun [27ta] conjunct the TNP Cupido [1ge]. Martha Wescott describes this combination as a “family man” which fits him perfectly.

6.       At his coronation in 1894, his progressed MC was just past a sextile to his radix Sun and trine his radix TNP Kronos.  An activated Sun-Kronos combination is associated with rise to positions of power and authority. In addition the secondary progressed Moon was conjunct TNP Kronos.

7.       Joining the Allies in 1915, the Russians fought the Germans in World War I. Several military disasters and the collapse of the domestic economy led to the Russian Revolution and Nicholas abdicated 15 March 1917. The family was kept in isolation until 17 July 1918 in Ekaterinburg, Siberia when at 2:30 AM they were taken to a basement with some servants and shot by the Bolsheviks on the orders of Lenin.

In 1917-18, solar arc  Pluto was conjunct his MC. Transit Pluto stationed direct on his MC on March 17, 2017 just two days after his abdication. In addition solar arc Uranus was square his radix Sun. This is a perfect combination for upheavals and power struggle or  a revolution followed by abdication. Moreover the Sun [27ta] is amidst the stars of Pleaides about which Robson writes: Pleiades with Sun: Murderer or murdered, imprisonment, death by …shooting, beheading.[Robson*, p183.]

In addition radix Sun is opposite Saturn [2sa] which is conjunct the star Yed Posterior.  On a Euphratean Tablet of 30 stars ca 3000 BC, this was a star of Mulu-bat, “Man of Death” – linked to people chosen to die!

Yed is the left hand of Ophiuchus holding the serpent, also called the hand of death. The hand is composed of two stars (Yed Prior and Yed Posterior), which lie over the head of the Scorpion. In the context of Dschuba's theme, Yed indicates something must die, generally a lesser level of self so a greater self-empowerment can result. Nick Fiorenza
