Cassiopeia eclipse and the Cannes jewel heist

More than $1 million worth of jewels by Chopard were stolen from a Cannes hotel room Thursday after the safe was removed and taken, according to Nice police. The jewels were meant to worn by celebrities in town for the annual Cannes Film Festival, which is known to attract thieves, but Deadline reports the Chopard heist is one of the biggest in recent history.

Regular readers will by now be aware of the importance of angles (i.e. Ascendant, Descendant, Midheaven (MC) and Nadir (IC) in mundane astrology. A chart for an eclipse becomes extremely significant for a place if the angles are strongly aspected.  Shown here is the chart of the May 10 solar eclipse at Cannes. Notice that the eclipse Sun-Moon along with Mercury, Mars and Saturn make a  Grand Cross with horizon axis so that judging by the rules of mundane astrology it is definitely important for the place. But what is it saying?

First, as we have mentioned in a previous post, the eclipse [19ta31] is conjunct the star  Rucha [18ta07]. Delta (δ) Cassiopeia, Rucha, is a star on the knee of the Ethiopian Queen often shown bedecked in jewellery [1].

"From Cassiope come the enhancement of beauty and devices for adorning the body: from gold has been sought the means to give grace to the appearance; precious stones have been spread over head, neck, and hands and golden chains have shone on snow-white feet". [Manilius, Astronomica, book 5, 1st century AD, p.343.]

 Amongst other things, ancient astrologers associated Mercury, Mars and Saturn combinations with theft as the two references below indicate [2] [3].

The eclipse offers  additional clues.

Mercury is the ruler of 5^th house while Saturn rules the 12^th since Gemini and Capricorn are on the cusp of these houses.  Looking up reference [4].

5^th  House: theatre, fashion, social functions.

12^th  House: crimes and criminals

Need one say anything more. The Cannes Film Festival falls under the rulership of the 5^th house and the 12^th house is obviously pointing towards a theft.

Finally why did this happen on May 16 ? It is well known in astrology that a planet transiting an eclipse triggers it off. On Thursday, Mars was transiting exactly over the eclipse point!
