Lunar Eclipse and the Kolkata Flyover Collapse

What makes astrology supremely relevant is that it discloses an unsuspected dimension of the world we think we know so well. It is as though we have become accustomed to see only the horizontal yarn of the weaving, the weft, and are largely unaware of the warp. We are accustomed to break down our world, in order to understand it, into certain categories, recognizing what belongs to this category, what belongs to that. That is ‘scientific’. However, astrology is about learning to think in new categories. It embodies a system of new categories that are as different from the ones to which we are habituated, as the warp is from the weft. In this system objects and events that at first sight appear to have nothing whatever to do with each other are shown to be intimately connected. Conversely, things we naturally tend to associate may be distributed otherwise in the astrological scheme. Understanding the world around us depends on our power to perceive patterns of meaning, to make the rig

Why Smart People are Happier with Fewer Friends

If you believe the class genius is a loner because he’s an arrogant know-it-all, or because he’s socially awkward, that’s not (necessarily) the case. Instead, it might be because he or she is honestly happier without the incessant inane prattling of mere mortals like you, or I. New research published by the British Journal of Psychology in February, authored by evolutionary psychologists Norman Li from the Singapore Management University and Satoshi Kanazawa from the London School of Economics, suggests that smarter people may be happier going it alone. March 28 http://www.realfarmacy.com/smarter-happier-friends/ The eclipses of March are making themselves felt in all kinds of events. Shown here is the chart for the lunar eclipse at London where the new research was published. Notice that the  luminaries align with the meridian axis signifying that the eclipse is important for the place. So what might it be saying? Obviously, the message is symbolic and ca

Eclipse brings big changes in Myanmar

Myanmar's new president has been sworn in, the first elected civilian leader in more than 50 years. Htin Kyaw from the National League for Democracy (NLD) takes over from Thein Sein, who introduced wide-ranging reforms during his five years in power. Although NLD leader Aung San Suu Kyi is barred from the presidency, she has said she will rule by proxy. The handover completes the transition that began after the NLD won a landslide win in elections in November. March 30 http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-35923083 In the shadow of the powerful March 9 solar eclipse, changes are now perceptible in many places.  The eclipse was conjunct the star Achernar, alpha Eridanus and Ankaa, alpha Phoenix. Aratus called Eridanus, “The River of Many Tears” and Diana Rosenberg links it to “history and paradigm altering events”. “Here the Phoenix-Firebird rises from its ashes renewed, Eridanus’ great River of Time and the flow of water from Aquarius’ Urn sweep away all past err

Goat Hangs By Its Horns From Power Line

Cats regularly get stuck up trees, but a goat on a power line?! That was the surreal sight that greeted a group of guys near the village of Sykourio in central Greece last Wednesday. Footage posted online shows them rescuing the silly billy, which was dangling from its horns dozens of feet above a steep hill. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/goat-powerlines-greece-video_us_56fa32c2e4b0a372181ae02d?section=india In keeping with my recent Mountain Astrologer series "Astrology of the Weird," which looks at anomalous events in the news, this odd item caught my eye. (How the heck did it get up there?) The article says that this happened last Wednesday--March 23rd. My first reaction was to wonder if there wasn't some significant Saturn (or Capricorn) aspect happening then, since goats are ruled by the planet Saturn and the sign Capricorn. Turns out that was the day of the most recent Jupiter-square-Saturn. Could the Jupiterian influence relate to the fact th

Why some couples can't admit how they met

Young people in India have traditionally had their marriages arranged by their families but now, armed with smartphones and dating apps, some are taking control of their own love lives. Simon Maybin spoke to three couples who met online. March 29. http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-35890967 The lunar eclipse of March 23 occurred in Libra, the sign linked to marriage and partnerships.  In a previous post [1] we discussed how the eclipse was pointing out the need to find companions and partners outside one’s  ownkind/“family or tribe”. At London, where the news mentioned above was published, the eclipse was significantly placed on the meridian. ( And if we were to draw the eclipse for a longitudinal line going through central India, the eclipse would be placed on the horizon.) A cursory look at the eclipse chart shows that it is part of a Grand Cross containing the TNPs Hades-Kronos and Cupido.  Keyphrases [2] and delineations  for the TNPs are taken from Martha

Lahore Easter suicide explosion

LAHORE -- Pakistani authorities hunted on Monday for breakaway Taliban militants who once declared loyalty to Islamic State after the group claimed responsibility for an Easter suicide bomb targeting Christians, that killed at least 70 people. The attack on Sunday evening in a busy park in the eastern city of Lahore, the powerbase of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, killed mostly women and children enjoying an Easter weekend outing. Pakistan is a majority-Muslim state but has a Christian population of more than 2 million. http://www.huffingtonpost.in/2016/03/28/lahore-park-blast_n_9555140.html?utm_hp_ref=india Mundane astrology is primarily based on the analysis of eclipse and ingress charts at any given place. The  angles of the chart are of paramount importance especially if significant configurations align with them. Presented here is the chart for the lunar eclipse of March 23 that took place just four days before the event reported.  Notice that a Jupiter-Satur

Could There Be A Coup In Turkey?

The situation in Turkey is bad and getting worse. It’s not just the deterioration in security amidst a wave of terrorism. Public debt might be stable, but private debt is out-of-control, the tourism sector is in free-fall, and the decline in the currency has impacted every citizen’s buying power. There is a broad sense, election results notwithstanding, that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is out-of-control. He is imprisoning opponents, seizing newspapers left and right, and building palaces at the rate of a mad sultan or aspiring caliph. In recent weeks, he has once again threatened to dissolve the constitutional court. Corruption is rife. His son Bilal reportedly fled Italy on a forged Saudi diplomatic passport as the Italian police closed in on him in an alleged money laundering scandal. His outbursts are raising eyebrows both in Turkey and abroad. Even members of his ruling party whisper about his increasing paranoia which, according to some Turkish officials, has gotten so bad

Lunar eclipse message delivered through a hyena that lives with wolves

Striped hyenas (Hyaena hyaena) are solitary hunters. They forage alone but occasionally come together to munch on a kill. They are far less sociable than their better-known cousins, spotted hyenas. Both species are known to be highly intolerant of other large carnivores, and even of other members outside their immediate social group. They will also kill large aggressive dogs that get in their way.  That is why Vladimir Dinets of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, US, was surprised to find that a striped hyena had travelled with a pack of grey wolves – another hostile predator usually intolerant of other species.March 26 http://www.bbc.com/earth/story/20160324-the-hyena-that-lives-with-wolves The essay by Melissa Hogenboom appeared on BBC Earth on March 26 just three days after a lunar eclipse that fell on the meridian at London. In her essay Lunar Eclipse In Libra: Making Changes In How We Relate, Carmen Di Luccio writes: We have been experienci

Fiery Explosion as Train Collides With Tanker

Ara The Altar MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Residents of a northwestern Minnesota town are returning to their homes after a freight train collides with a propane truck Thursday. Crews in Callaway have been on the scene of a collision between the train and truck for more than 17 hours. More than 15 different departments have responded. The incident prompted an evacuation of the town. First, they were fighting flames from when the train hit the propane truck. Then around 10:30 p.m. Thursday, the large propane tanker exploded. It was carrying 10,000 gallons of propane when it was hit by the train. http://minnesota.cbslocal.com/2016/03/25/callaway-train-tanker-crash/ Astrologers practicing mundane astrology are aware that eclipse or ingresses affect a place according to the position of planets in houses. For example the current solar eclipse chart at Callaway has Saturn placed in the third house as part of a stressful T-square. For this position, H.S. Green writes in h

JK Rowling shares Robert Galbraith rejection letters

JK Rowling has shared two rejection letters she received for her first novel writing as Robert Galbraith. The author was trying to find a publisher for The Cuckoo's Calling, which was eventually released in 2013. Rowling posted the rejections on Twitter, saying she was doing so to encourage other aspiring writers. One of the letters, from publishing house Constable & Robinson, says it "could not publish [The Cuckoo's Calling] with commercial success". March 25; http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-35899243 JK Rowling  is the  writer of the immensely popular series of "Harry Potter" books. In three short years from her first book in 1997 about an 11-year-old schoolboy wizard, Rowlings has had a fantastic success. Her first three books have sold an amazing 30 million copies and have been translated into 31 languages. She has gone from being a penniless single mom to a famous author worth more than $20 million. Congratulations to Kerry and Lavrov!

Russia’s Sergey Lavrov and the US’ John Kerry agreed to push for a political transition in Syria by having a new draft constitution ready by August. The Kremlin-hosted talks revealed a softer, more cooperative tone on Syria, as well as Ukraine. The discussions lasted over four hours and involved Russian President Vladimir Putin, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, US Secretary of State John Kerry, and US Ambassador to Russia John F. Tefft. “We agreed on a target schedule for establishing a framework for a political transition [in Syria] and also a draft constitution, both of which we targeted by August,” Kerry told journalists at a joint news conference with Lavrov following the meeting. Lavrov also said that both parties had agreed to use their influence to push the Syrian government to engage in “direct talks” with the opposition in order to accelerate discussions on a political transition that could help end Syria’s civil war. https://www.rt.com/news/337124-syria-talks-co

Solar Eclipse resurrects Airships

(CNN)It's hard to imagine keeping secrets about an aircraft so spectacularly huge that the Guinness Book of Records is believed to be just days away from rubber-stamping its entry. But until the vast new Airlander 10 airship was unveiled fully assembled in a giant hangar north of London on March 21, it still had a few to reveal. March 23  http://edition.cnn.com/2016/03/23/aviation/airlander-10-worlds-biggest-aircraft/index.html The Airlander, is a hybrid airship.  An airship or dirigible is a type of aerostat or lighter-than-air aircraft that can navigate through the air under its own power. Airships were the first aircraft capable of controlled powered flight, and were most commonly used before the 1940s, but their use decreased over time as their capabilities were surpassed by those of aeroplanes. Their decline was accelerated by a series of high-profile accidents, including the 1930 crash and burning of British R101 in France, the 1933 storm-related crash

Why the US-Qatari pipeline dream ended in a fiasco

Why the Arabs Don’t Want Us in Syria. They don’t hate ‘our freedoms.’ They hate that we’ve betrayed our ideals in their own countries—for oil. By Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., February 22, 2016 http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2016/02/rfk-jr-why-arabs-dont-trust-america-213601?paginate=false In this comprehensive essay, Robert Kennedy, among other things, explains that the dream of a Qatar pipeline through Syria was proposed in 2000. When Syria refused transit permission, in 2011, the U.S. joined France, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and the UK to form the Friends of Syria Coalition, which formally demanded the removal of Assad. Now in 2015-16, after the Russian intervention in Syria, we have entered a phase where we are seeing the end of the dream by the US and its allies. These developments can be understood using outer planet aspects. In May 2000, a Jupiter-Saturn conjunction in Taurus took place on the MC at Washington.  The following keywords for the phases of the Jupite

Uranus-Pluto and the Brussels explosion

Many people have been killed or seriously injured in explosions at Brussels airport and a metro station. Twin blasts struck the departures area of Zaventem international airport, in the north-east of the city.Another explosion hit the Maelbeek metro station in the city centre, close to several European Union institutions. The attacks come four days after the capture in Brussels of Salah Abdeslam, the main suspect in the jihadist attacks in Paris on 13 November 2015. There were two explosions in the check-in area of the airport at about 08:00 local time (07:00 GMT) on Tuesday. The Belgian federal prosecutor Frederic Van Leeuw said one of the blasts was "likely" to have been a suicide bomb. Lunar Eclipse highlights Zaniah – the prostitute

A doctor who paid for sex with a prostitute while on emergency duty at a maternity hospital has been told he can keep his job. Trainee anaesthetist Dr Rupert Pemsel, 32, had a 40-minute sexual encounter with an escort in an on-call room on a locked corridor, having texted her to say: "This is naughty on my part so discretion would really be appreciated." The father-of-two, whose wife is a GP, said he had met the woman after experiencing stressful episodes in his life, including being involved in two road accidents and witnessing neonatal deaths in a visit to Uganda - "stressors" which he said had led him to view internet pornography. At a Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service hearing in Manchester, Dr Pemsel was suspended from the medical register for ten months, after which he will be free to resume his NHS post.  Tribunal chairwoman Lisa Smith said the medic had not been struck off because "it would not benefit the public to be deprived of the serv
