Cargo ship carrying '700 migrants' docks in Italy

A cargo ship said to be carrying 700 clandestine migrants which was taken under Italian control at sea has docked in the Italian port of Gallipoli. The Blue Sky M had apparently been abandoned by its crew and at one point seemed to be heading directly towards the Italian coast on autopilot. Reports suggest Syrians and Kurds are among those aboard the ship. Photos posted by the local Italian Red Cross show the ship in port with people crowding a deck. Ambulance crews stood waiting as the ship docked in the early hours of New Year's Eve amid unconfirmed reports that people on the ship were suffering frostbite. BBC; December 31;

This news can be best understood if we start with the chart for the New Moon eclipse of October 24. The eclipse conjoined the star Miaplacidus of Argo Navis. Miaplacidus is the second most important star of the Argo, after Canopus.  Nick Fiorenza informs us that this star is about living at or travelling to the rig…

9/11 Graffiti popping up on buildings and highways

Some graffiti popping up on highways has a lot of people talking, and the state isn't too happy about how a group of vandals are trying to get their message across. Eyewitness News explains what it all means and the lengths one state agency is going to cut down on it. When people drive around central Connecticut, it's hard to miss some of the graffiti popping up on bridges, overpasses and road signs that says "9-11 Truth," "W-T-C" and "Building 7." All the phrases are scrawled across overpasses on some major highways. The Connecticut Department of Transportation is fed up with graffiti and doesn't have enough resources to keep up with it. "It's finite resources," said Kevin Nursick, who is spokesman for the Connecticut DOT. "There are a lot of needs out there. There are limited funds."

The end of the fiat dollar

The dollar's role as the world's reserve currency was first established in 1944 with the Bretton Woods agreement. The U.S. was able assume this role by virtue of it then having the largest gold reserves in the world. The dollar was pegged at $35 an ounce -- and freely exchangeable into gold at that rate. But by 1971, convertibility into gold was no longer viable as America's gold resources drained away. On Aug. 15, 1971, Nixon disconnected the dollar from the gold standard  making the  dollar a pure fiat currency (decoupled from any physical store of value). The announcement by the President was made  at 9 pm  from the Oval Office in Washington, DC [1]. A chart for that moment may be looked upon as the birth of the Fiat Dollar. Notice that the Sun was square a Jupiter-Neptune conjunction which in turn was opposite Saturn.

Transit Saturn has just entered Sagittarius and will be transiting over the  radix Jupiter-Neptune conjunction opposite Saturn in 2015. Saturn transits a…

Ferry catches fire off Greek coast

Ships and helicopters are taking part in a major rescue operation after an Italian ferry carrying 478 people caught fire north-west of Corfu. One person has died after jumping from the ship and another has been confirmed injured, officials say. A total of 190 people have been rescued but more than 280 remain on the Norman Atlantic which was travelling from Patras in Greece to Ancona in Italy. Choppy seas and strong winds are hampering the night-time rescue. BBC; Dec. 28;

In yesterday’s post [1] on the missing AirAsia flight, we saw that the Uranus occultation by the Moon on the Ascendant of the chart was one of the causes. Here too we see that a chart drawn for the occultation at Patras has Moon-Uranus significantly placed on the IC again implying that it is a contributing factor to the fire.

But as we have pointed out before, there is always more than one cosmic factor for major events. Notice that the current Capricorn Ingress of the Sun h…

Is the collapse of the US monetary system close?

As we race toward the end of the year, we all need to be asking each other if we have done everything that we can do to prepare for the impending collapse of the Federal Reserve Note, that we call the dollar? Why would I ask such a ridiculous question? Simple, our economy is on the brink with our $18 trillion dollar deficit, our $240 trillion dollar unfunded liabilities (e.g. Social Security, Medicare), our negative national savings rate, the planned bail-ins of your savings accounts and of course, the mother of all debts, the estimated one quadrillion dollar credit swap derivative debt. With the full implementation of the free trade agreements, America has virtually no other source of revenue (e.g. tariffs) than the $2 trillion dollars of annual tax collection. The United States could spend every dollar, dime and nickel on these debts and not pay them off by the 50th century! An economic collapse is inevitable and it will come like a thief in the night. You will have virtually no war…

AirAsia flight missing at Uranus occultation

Pegasus – The Flying Horse

An AirAsia Indonesia airliner flying from Indonesia to Singapore with 162 people on board has lost contact with air traffic control. Flight QZ8501 went missing at around 06:20 local time (23:20 GMT). The plane, an Airbus A320-200, disappeared midway into the flight of more than two hours and no distress call was issued. Indonesian military planes and aircraft from Singapore are searching an area of the JavaSea. The flight left the Indonesian city of Surabaya in eastern Java at 05:20 local time (22:20 GMT) and was due to arrive in Singapore at 08:30 (00:30 GMT). The missing jet had requested a "deviation" from the flight path due to bad weather, AirAsia said. Dec.28

We are in the shadow of a rare phenomena referred to as an occultation. Occultations are essentially eclipses, with one celestial body passing in front of another, from our perspective on Earth. As such, they act to emphasize the issues and conce…

Congestion at L.A. ports is putting a damper on economy

Brutal congestion at the nation's busiest ports in Los Angeles and Long Beach is throwing a kink into an economy that's finally kicking into high gear. The months-long bottleneck is hurting retailers and other businesses that aren't getting their shipments on time as massive ships from Asia anchor off the Los Angeles coastline waiting for the docks to clear.
According to terminal operators and shipping lines, dockworkers are also slowing down on the job to gain leverage during contract negotiations, further hindering the nation's busiest port complex. Dec 25.

The chart for the current New Moon at Los Angeles is shown here. The New Moon fell in the sixth house which is linked to the working class, labour unions etc. [1]  and is one leg of a Yod with the TNP Apollon (trade and commerce) and the TNP Admetus (blockages and delays). Admetus [+19d44] is conjunct in declination with the nebula Praesaepe [+19d38] or M44 Cancri [2]. Cancer the Crab is…

China Offers Russia Help With Currency Problems

Two Chinese ministers offered support for Russia as President Vladimir Putin seeks to shore up the ruble without depleting foreign-exchange reserves. China will provide help if needed and is confident Russia can overcome its economic difficulties, Foreign Minister Wang Yi was cited as saying in Bangkok in a Dec. 20 report by Hong Kong-based Phoenix TV. Commerce Minister Gao Hucheng said expanding a currency swap between the two nations and making increased use of yuan for bilateral trade would have the greatest impact in aiding Russia, according to the broadcaster.

The event reported in the news occurred on the eve of Uranus turning station direct. A chart for the station at Moscow is shown here. Notice a powerful Grand Cross on the angles interlocked with the Admetus-Saturn opposition from the 8th to 2nd house.

Dog saves Atlanta family from road-rage gunfire

ATLANTA -- They say all dogs go to heaven. That will be especially true for one German Shepherd in the West End. Not so sure, though, about the man who killed the dog while firing multiple gunshots into a Chevy Suburban that was loaded with children. Witnesses say the shooting began with road rage and ended up with the gunman following the SUV to a strip mall on Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard. "About five minutes later, they pulled back through," said one of the victims, who asked not to be identified. "They just rolled right up; they pulled a gun out and started (shooting)."

The incident is reported to have happened on November 28 – a  day after Thanksgiving – in the lunar cycle of the New Moon of November 22. A chart for the New Moon at Atlanta is shown here. Notice the placement of the Saturn-Admetus-Neptune T-square on the angles. This placement was analyzed in a previous post [1] where a monkey saves an electrocuted friend. The de…

Monkey saves electrocuted friend

Perseus “saving” Andromeda

Onlookers at a train station in Kanpur watched in awe as a monkey came to the rescue of an injured friend - resuscitating another monkey that had been electrocuted and knocked unconscious. The injured monkey had fallen between the tracks, apparently after touching high-tension wires at the train station in Kanpur. 25, 2014

The big event that has just occurred is the Winter Solstice also known as the Capricorn Ingress of the Sun. Shown here is the chart for the Capricorn Ingress at Kanpur, India. Notice  Saturn-Neptune-Admetus T-square on the angles anchored to the Uranus-Pluto-Zeus T-square. The elements of this complex configuration are delineated as follows:
Admetus-Uranus: Accidents that deal with falls, holes or depressions in the land; incidents connected with grounding of high tension wires. [1]
Uranus-Zeus: Electrical power sources

The TNP Admetus [28ta] on the descendant is conjunct the evil star Algol [26ta]. Among events fo…

Christmas Truce

British and German Soldiers fraternising : A Christmas Truce

The Christmas truce  was a series of widespread but unofficial ceasefires along the Western Front around Christmas 1914. In the week leading up to the holiday, German and British soldiers crossed trenches to exchange seasonal greetings and talk. In areas, men from both sides ventured into no man's land on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day to mingle and exchange food and souvenirs. There were joint burial ceremonies and prisoner swaps, while several meetings ended in carol-singing. Men played games of football with one another, giving one of the most enduring images of the truce.
The Artois region in France still carries the scars of bitter fighting and loss from the trenches of World War One. So why shouldn't one moment of camaraderie between enemies be celebrated and remembered, asks Christian Carion.

So what cosmic energies led to this beautiful but strange event in 1914? Perhap…

Putin’s Anti-Nazi Law at Uranus station direct likely to cripple EU

The chess grand master Putin and his crew are planning a further Anti-Nazi Law that has left EU foreign diplomats in “total horror” after being alerted by their Russian counterparts to the catastrophic effects of this law upon the NATO Alliance. Due to a proposal of the Russian Federation Council the new Anti-Nazi law forbids the sale of energy supplies to any nation that is now/or has been engaged in Nazi-like torture of prisoners of war or its own citizens.
The Federation Council (the upper house of the parliament of the Russian Federation) has begun the adoption of this new “Anti-Nazi Law” under orders given by President Putin after the United States refused to heed Russia’s 14 December warning of retaliation against the imposition of additional sanctions by President Obama’s who signed a new Russian sanctions law on 18 December.
The most catastrophic effect of this “Anti-Nazi Law” after being adopted would be the immediate cessation of natural gas flows to Europe which would, in eff…

Pope Francis sharply criticises Vatican bureaucracy

Cetus about to devour Andromeda (notice the rescuer Perseus in the background)

Pope Francis has sharply criticised the Vatican bureaucracy in a pre-Christmas address to cardinals, complaining of "spiritual Alzheimer's" and "the terrorism of gossip". He said the Curia - the administrative pinnacle of the Roman Catholic Church - was suffering from 15 "ailments", which he wanted cured in the New Year. Pope Francis - the first Latin American pontiff - also criticised "those who look obsessively at their own image". He has demanded reform of the Curia. There was silence at the end of the Pope's speech. Before his election in March 2013, the pontiff encountered internal opposition to some of the reforms he wants to carry out. He has set up a series of specialist bodies to fight corruption and poor management, appointing a team of advisers. Dec.22 BBC

Classic cars uncovered after four decades

It’s one of the greatest barn finds of all time — a collection of 60 cars, some rare and potentially worth millions, that was hidden away on an estate in western France. The cars were collected by Roger Baillon, a French truck manufacturing magnate who purchased them and many more throughout the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s, then sold half the lot and left the rest to rot in 1978 when his business went bankrupt. They’ve remained untouched ever since. The trove was discovered by a team of automotive specialists at the French auction house Artcurial who’d heard about it from a Baillon family friend. They were shocked that such an extensive stash wasn’t already on anyone’s radar.Dec. 10

Regular readers will be familiar with the importance of the Capricorn Ingress chart. Here again we will see how progressions of the Capricorn Ingress chart can mark out days on which specific events become newsworthy. Shown here is Capricorn Ingress chart of December 21, 2013 at Paris progre…
