Jupiter-Pluto and the bankruptcy of Detroit

Detroit has become the largest US city ever to file for bankruptcy, with debts of at least $18bn (£12bn). The city, once a symbol of US industrial power, is seeking protection from creditors who include public-sector workers and their pension funds.
Unions described the bankruptcy filing as a power grab. Detroit has faced decades of problems linked to declining industry. Public services are nearing collapse and about 70,000 properties lie abandoned. Mayor Dave Bing has vowed that public services will keep running and wages for public workers will be paid. On Thursday, Michigan state-appointed emergency manager Kevyn Orr asked a federal judge to place the city into bankruptcy protection.

The affairs of a nation can be judged from the horoscope set up at the time of its official inauguration, the birth chart of its leader, and various phenomena such as eclipses, lunations, great conjunctions, stations, comets and ingresses. Among these, cardinal ingresses have a traditional reputation as the most important mundane event.

Shown above is the chart for the sidereal Cancer Ingress of the Sun on 17 July at Detroit. Notice the  forming Jupiter-Pluto opposition made significant for Detroit by being placed on the horizon axis. This is a combination associated with bankruptcy [1] [2].

In addition we have a mundane square of Jupiter-Neptune with Jupiter on the Ascendant and Neptune on the MC.

People who built their castles on sand are  discovering that the tide has changed (and that piddly little bump is  where their fortress used to be.)  [3]
