What is a
Davison relationship chart?
The Davison
relationship chart [DRC] was named for Ronald C. Davison (1914-1985), author
and president of the Astrological Lodge of the Theosophical Society of London. The date and time can be determined by
calculating the day that lies exactly between the natal charts of those
involved. The same principle is also applied to the times of birth. If the
individuals involved have different places of birth a combined "place of
birth" is calculated by taking the average values of latitude and
longitude.
Even if the
combined place of birth is located in the middle of the Pacific
Ocean , the DRC is still a concrete horoscope for a specific time,
place, and location which can, like any natal chart, be used as a basis to
calculate solar return charts, progressions and the effect of transits.
Having
understood what a Davison relationship chart is, here we will look at the Iran-US relationship . Shown above is the
DRC for Iran [1 Feb 79; 9:00
am IT, Tehran ] and the US Sibly [4 Jul 1776; 17:14
LMT, Philadelphia ].
The following points come to attention immediately.
The upcoming
lunar eclipse [25ar] falls opposite the composite Sun [25li18]. The eclipse is
conjunct the star Acamar, theta Eridani often shown as a dam in the river of
life. Since eclipses are known to end old chapters and begin new ones, it appears appropriate
that this eclipse is hinting at the need for an end to the stalemate in the
US-Iran relationship. The Sabian symbol for the composite Sun “An Eagle and
white Dove quickly change into each other” says it all.
The
directed solar arc Sun [13pi] is forming a conjunction to Moon [13pi] and
Saturn [14pi]. All these are conjunct the stars Achernar [14pi] and Phoenix [14pi]. Diana
Rosenberg writing about these stars says:
Endings and new beginnings…pushing
boundaries, solving problems and altering mankind’s view of the world, freeing
humankind from outdated illusions and outmoded conventions of thought…the
ever-regenerating Phoenix offers renewal and healing….history and paradigm
altering events; peace treaties.
The radix
Sun [25li18] is in a sharp quincunx aspect to Pluto [25ta04] which is conjunct
the star Algol [24ta28]. The star
Algol [26ta22] that has been historically prominent in atomic explosions [1]
Finally,
the lunar eclipse chart at the midpoint between Tehran
and Washington
completes the picture. In a strange coincidence the eclipse occurs on 18
October, which is the composite radix
date [18 Oct 1877]. Then we notice that the eclipse is placed prominently
square the horizon axis with the Ascendant
conjunct Jupiter [19cn] which itself is conjunct Castor, alpha Gemini
part of the Indian lunar mansion Punarvasu
[“The two who are reunited or good again”]. This mansion is also called the “the
star of renewal” and “the return of the light”.
