Victor Hugo attacked by French students

Victor Hugo has been trending on Twitter in France as students lash out angrily after the Year 12 Baccalaureate exam - and are in turn condemned by others for their disrespectful attitude, notes Olivia Sorrel-Dejerine. The author of Les Miserables and the Hunchback of Notre Dame was repeatedly called the son of a prostitute, and worse, last night. Two other French authors Louis Aragon and Claude Roy also came under fire, but for some reason Hugo took the brunt of the attack, after the four-hour test "Poetic writing and search for meaning, from the Middle Ages to the present day". BBC; June 19

The horoscope of Victor Hugo is available at Astrodienst  [1]. With a Lois-Rodden rating of AA, it is a delight for any astrologer since the progressions of the angles can be relied upon. Given in the table below are the current  solar arc directed MC aspects. We can see that  the radix Venus-Sun-Pluto conjunction placed opposite Saturn-Jupiter is activated.  Venus-Pluto is a combination that is known to cross lines of taboo in relationships. So it  reflects what we know about Victor Hugo. Apparently he was a lusty man with several mistresses. Since Saturn is closely connected with strait jacket morality, the Saturn-Pluto opposition  can manifest as social judgement on “taboo behaviour”. So  with this entire combination activated, the news above comes as no surprise.

Further information is obtained from the New Moon [7ge21] of May 28 and its Last Quarter Phase. The New Moon  fell square Hugo’s natal Sun and, therefore, served as a trigger to the directed MC. It was conjunct the stars of Hyades which have a reputation for sexual depravity.

With this background about the Hyades when we now look at the chart for the  Last Quarter Moon  of June 19 at Paris, it becomes clear why the sudden criticism is taking place now. Notice the T-square of Mars-Pluto-Uranus on the meridian axis. Mars on the MC is conjunct the stars of the Virgin and the evil Hydra.  About this area, Diana Rosenberg writes that here the Virgin’s purity may give rise to self-righteous “holier-than-thou” zealots who persecute those who, in their eyes, do not adhere to their ideas of morality and high standards. Some misuse their verbal gifts, going for the jugular with sardonic sneering and sarcasm.

If we add the TNPs Kronos-Hades which are square the MC and Mars we get another detail.

Kronos-Hades:

  • to see vulgar and coarse (Hades)  statements being made about a famous (Kronos) person; i.e. attempts to  undermine (Hades)   a famous (Kronos) person
  • a famous (Kronos) historical (Hades) person.
