Taiwan gas explosion

(CNN) -- The death toll is rising in Taiwan in a series of explosions triggered by underground gas leaks in the southern city of Kaohsiung, according to state-run news agency CAN. At least 22 people were killed and another 270 injured when the powerful blasts ripped through the city's sewage system early Friday (Aug 1). Firefighters from neighboring cities rushed to Kaohsiung to help battle the flames, CNA reported. The government also called up hundreds of soldiers to assist rescue efforts.

The cardinal ingresses of the Sun have a traditional reputation as  important mundane events.  Shown here is the chart for the Sun's entry  into sidereal Cancer at Kaohsiung, Taiwan.  The ingress is significant for the place since a powerful and potentially accident producing Grand Cross involving Uranus-Pluto-Zeus is on the angles.  With Pluto in Capricorn, the following extract from Lynn Hayes’ article  “Pluto in Capricorn and the Eroding Infrastructure” is relevant here [1].

One of the things I believe we’ll be facing over the next few years as Pluto travels through Capricorn is the erosion of the structures that support our human lives on the planet. Bridges, tunnels, buildings – all are ruled by Capricorn and subject to transformation while in Pluto’s domain.

On the Ascendant [6ar] conjunct the Moon [6ar] are stars of Cetus, the Sea-Monster which Diana Rosenberg among other things associates with “marshes, thermal springs, gas, fog, fires”.  Zeus is a TNP linked to fires and explosions. Progressing the chart brings Uranus [16ar30], the separating edge of the Cross square to the MC [17cp32] triggering the entire Grand Cross on August 1, 2014, the date of the event.  A key phrase for Uranus-Pluto is “the collapse of something old”  prior to a need for renewal.
