Astrology of the Ice Water Challenge

The Ice Bucket Challenge, sometimes called the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, is an activity involving dumping a bucket of ice water on someone's head to promote awareness of the disease amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and encourage donations to research. It went viral on social media during July-August 2014.

How did the craze start?
In the States, when Chris Kennedy, a golfer from Sarasota in Florida, was nominated by a friend to participate in an ice bucket challenge similar to the one screened live on-air by programme Golf Channel Morning. Kennedy was the first to associate the challenge with ALS because he has a relative suffering from the disease and his video was posted back on July 15. http://dailym.ai/1qpZBDO

Shown here are two mundane charts drawn for Sarasota, Florida. The first is the Capricorn return chart progressed to July 15, 2014 while the second is the chart for the Full Moon of July 12.

In the first chart we have Admetus on the descendant and Neptune on the IC in what is commonly known as a paran aspect. Both these form hard aspects to the asteroids Ceres and Vesta. Key phrases for the relevant combinations are:

Admetus-Neptune
Admetus is density, cold or hardness while Neptune is water so that the combination is cold water or ice.

Ceres-Neptune
The need to  "take care of people" because they're sick, weak, dependent or  emotionally fragile.

The first combination explains the   “ice bucket” challenge and the second tells us the reason why it is being undertaken.

Why has it become a craze ?. Well Neptune is also linked to “fads and fashions”.

Neptune, by nature, always involves the process of dissolving whatever it touches into an undifferentiated sea of consciousness. Through Neptune, we ‘lose’ ourselves – in dreams, in fantasy, in drugs, in the emotions of the crowd, in fads and fashions, in sympathy and compassion. http://health.wikinut.com/Neptune-Transcending-Illusions/27zo9ilq/

In the second chart we have the  Full Moon luminaries forming a Grand Cross with Uranus and Mars on the meridian. The Sun [20cn] is aligned with Castor, alpha Geminorum, in the Twins’ head and  Mirza, Canis Major, in the Dog’s head. Uranus [16ar] is conjunct lambda Cephei [16ar] in the King’s head. These star positions according to Diana Rosenberg link to “brain diseases” and  “head ailments”. The Moon [20cp] is conjunct alpha Pavonis,  in the Peacock’s head [23cp] and iota Sagittari [22cp] in the Archer’s hind foot once again hinting at the possibility of “brain and leg ailments”.  Further confirmation comes from the fact that the TNP Admetus[28ta]  along with the asteroids Hephaistos [27ta] and Terpsichore [28ta] forms a hard aspect to the  Pluto-Moon leg of the Cross.

Hephaistos: Problems with the limbs (usually the legs;) lameness; crippling.
Terpsichore: coordination, agility, mobility; flexion muscles

It is known that amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a neurodegenerative disorder with various causes.  The earliest symptoms of ALS are typically obvious weakness and/or muscle atrophy. About 75% of people contracting the disorder experience "limb onset" ALS, i.e., first symptoms in the arms or legs.

    1. There is no single book for TNPs. I suggest the following references (a) Orders of Light; Martha-Lang Wescott (b) Aureas, Special Uranian Program http://www.uranian-institute.org/xsoftware.htm
