Iranian mathematician Maryam Mirzakhani wins math’s “Nobel Prize”

Indra’s net consists of innumerable jewels covering the celestial palace of the Vedic god Indra. The jewels mirror one another in such a way that the whole network is reflected within each one, ad infintum - Robert Kleinman

The International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) is the largest conference for the topic of mathematics. It meets once every four years, hosted by the International Mathematical Union (IMU). The ICM 2014 is being held in Seoul, South Korea on August 13-21, 2014.

Iranian mathematician Maryam Mirzakhani  has won the Fields Medal, considered the Nobel of math, and broken  into a male-dominated academic elite. All 52 previous winners of the award were men. She will be awarded the Fields Medal — widely considered math’s Nobel Prize, since there is no Nobel for mathematics — at a ceremony in Seoul on Wednesday morning. Born and raised in Iran, she has been a professor at Stanford University since 2008.

Astrology is the original hologram. A hologram is a 'picture of the whole'. We think of holograms as those amazing three-dimensional photographs made with lasers. But the concept of a hologram can be applied to anything that represents a complete picture, if such is possible. An original holographic photographic plate can be broken in two, and each half will contain an image of the whole. [1]

In the same way, astrology charts for different astronomical events in a particular period will tend to say the same thing in different ways. As you look at more and more charts for a particular slice of time the resolution increases but there always seems to be a great similarity of themes in all the charts.

We present here three charts for the current period that we shall see have a similarity of themes that connect with the news above.

The first chart is that of the Aries Ingress of the Moon on August 13 at Seoul, Korea.  Straddling the angles is the Grand Cross involving Uranus-Pluto-Kronos-Hades. Among other things Uranus-Pluto refers to the end of an old order and beginning of a new one. The TNP Hades refers to all that has been rejected, historically speaking here,  while Kronos refers to the stage of becoming famous or being raised to new heights. But this is still very general. However, in our specific context, here is a list of the asteroids that make hard aspects to the Ascendant [22ar] and Uranus [16ar].  Lilith [18vi] quincunx Uranus [16ar]. Hybris [20li]; Urania [23cp]; Arachne [26ar] hard aspects to horizon axis. Let us interpret them using Martha Wescott’s delineations.

HYBRIS: Expectation, glass-ceilings, limits-what one future-paces as their fate, their slot in life-and what can be expected of others; what others, parents, you see as your fate; conditioned limitations.

URANIA: handling theoretical, hypothetical or abstract principles and information; logic and rationality (e.g. mathematics)

ARACHNE: Intricate detail

LILITH: gender stereotypes

URANUS: breakaway from convention

ARACHNE/URANIA detailed or complicated abstractions or theories (as in mathematics)

HYBRIS/URANUS/LILITH
Expectations and conditioned limitation (“glass ceilings”)  of gender stereotypes can go  through a process of change now.

The second chart that we look at is that of the Full Moon of August 10 at Seoul, Korea.

The Full Moon [18aq] was parallel Spica and contraparallel Vindemiatrix both stars of the Virgin. About Vindemiatrix, Diana Rosenberg writes:

It is well  to recall that the role of a virgin (i.e. unwed woman) was  in ancient times a rare gift of freedom, an opportunity to function and develop independently, free of the burdens, responsibilities and limitations of partnership and parenting. Occupations here include “law, science, mathematics”.

Once again the Grand Cross discussed before is on the angles. On the IC are the asteroids Logos, Pallas and Lilith which combined with the Uranus-Pluto are saying much the same thing – overturning of gender stereotypes regarding  logical skills.

PALLAS, ATHENA: perceptual skills

LOGOS: Logic, thought, data, reasoning abilities

LILITH: gender stereotypes

Finally, we look at the chart for Venus’ entry into Leo. Here too, as in the first case we have Hybris on the MC opposite Uranus on IC (meaning as above).

On the Ascendant is the Galactic Center while the Machine [27ge] is directly opposite the  Galactic Center [27sa]. About this, Nick Fiorenza writes:

The Machine, is a high-energy dynamic x-ray source. Appropriately named, the Machine articulates the essence of the human cognitive mind, the intellect, which processes logistical related matters for humankind, the bio-logical process itself--in contrast to Galactic Center's essence, that of cosmic mind.

Does that sound like the mind of a mathematician?

Since all three charts have Uranus [16ar] in the same position, let us look at the stars that form the backdrop to Uranus. Here we find the star Alpheratz [15ar], alpha Andromeda. Princess Andromeda’s head  is connected to the navel of Pegasus, the Flying Horse. This is a symbol of a powerful mind and unbridled imagination, that is born from the head of a Chained Woman; thus the message here is that no matter what constraints life imposes on these natives, their minds are free! Alpheratz is considered a star of good fortune bestowing honours, riches, success, independence and freedom. Born under Cetus (sea monster), the Fishes and tropical Aries, these pioneers “lift and loosen old foundations” finding new ways of seeing, studying and dealing with problems. They search for answers to the most acute questions of human existence in the deeps of research, mathematics and occult philosophy, with a particular leaning towards the medieval quadrivium of astronomy, geometry, mathematics and music.
