Christmas Truce

British and German Soldiers fraternising : A Christmas Truce

The Christmas truce  was a series of widespread but unofficial ceasefires along the Western Front around Christmas 1914. In the week leading up to the holiday, German and British soldiers crossed trenches to exchange seasonal greetings and talk. In areas, men from both sides ventured into no man's land on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day to mingle and exchange food and souvenirs. There were joint burial ceremonies and prisoner swaps, while several meetings ended in carol-singing. Men played games of football with one another, giving one of the most enduring images of the truce.

The Artois region in France still carries the scars of bitter fighting and loss from the trenches of World War One. So why shouldn't one moment of camaraderie between enemies be celebrated and remembered, asks Christian Carion. http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-30433729

So what cosmic energies led to this beautiful but strange event in 1914? Perhaps  the chart of the New Moon of December 17, 1914 in the Artois region has some answers.

Centaurus is depicted pouring a libation at the altar, Ara

The New Moon conjoins the Scorpion’s tail, marked by Lesath. Under the tail and the cusp of Sagittarius, is Ara, the Altar of the Centaur. An Altar is a place of divine presence, thanksgiving, and can be a sanctuary and a place of integration of otherwise divisive forces. On the low altar, the Centaur places Lupus the Beast (our lower-order personality-based patterns of self-importance, and associated emotional baggage) with conscious deliberation to be consumed in the Centaur’s transmutational pyre. Venom from Lesath, the sting of the Scorpion--the often harsh but required lessons incurred while incarnate--dripping upon the altar serves as the required transmutational elixir. This picture fits the scenario quite well. The venom from the Scorpion symbolizes  the enmity on the battlefield while the coming of the soldiers together to celebrate a moment of truce is very beautifully captured by the image of the Centaur sacrificing the beast Lupus (enmity) on the altar [1].

Notice that the New Moon is square the TNP Poseidon which aspects the stellium Cupido-Neptune-Zeus.  Keyphrases for the elements and delineations for the relevant combinations are as below:

ZEUS: guns, power tools, machines, motors, fireplaces, fuels; excitement; to incite; military; ability to harness energies for accomplishment.

CUPIDO: Group unity or dynamics

POSEIDON: Uplifting people/ideas; psychic vibrations; persuasion; intellectual or spiritual influences; ideological or moral stances; spread of ideas; advertising; interest in business practices/ethics; inspiration; religion; mediums; clarity; enlightenment; receptivity to The Force; reactions to the media; windows, mirrors, refraction of light.

NEPTUNE: Compassion, sympathy & empathy; sensitivity; vulnerability; trust issues;  make-believe; unrealistic hopes; attunement to Other Worlds

Cupido-Poseidon-Zeus
Spiritual influences affect group dynamics in wartime.

Neptune-Poseidon
To be susceptible and open to spiritual influences; a state of heightened receptivity to the unconscious and possibility of ego-transcendence.
