Argo Navis – Jason’s
celestial ship
Leonard
Nimoy’s horoscope [1] is available at Astro DataBank. He was born at the last
waning Uranus-Pluto square. When the two
planets went through a conjunction at [16vi] during 1965-67, close to stars in the sail of the Celestial Ship
Argo Navis, he became famous as the pointed-eared alien Spock
in "Star Trek." And as if proving that his life was connected with
the Uranus-Pluto cycle, he has died at
his Uranus return and the waxing Uranus-Pluto square.
Nimoy’s
radix Sun [4ar56] is quincunx the Neptune [3vi37].
Neptune is a mysterious and fascinating planet
closely connected with human inspiration. As a planet of illusions it rules
photography, movies and cinema and by association actors too. In Nimoy’s chart,
Neptune is conjunct alpha Sextant [3vi10] – a star
in the constellation of Argo Navis – the
mythical ship which carried Jason and the Argonauts in search of the Golden
Fleece.
Finally we
look at the chart of the April 28, 2014 solar eclipse at Bel-Air ,
California to explain the death
of the legend. Notice that the eclipse was prominent for the place with a Grand
Cross placed sharply on the meridian axis. The Mars leg of the Cross is
conjunct the MC and stars of Corvus and the Virgin. Diana Rosenberg writes that
this is an area connected with astronomy, navigation, aviation and space . She
also adds that since these stars are in the chest of the Virgin, there can be
susceptibility to tuberculosis and lung diseases [2]. How strange that Nimoy’s
case is linked to both these! Progressing the eclipse chart to Feb. 27, the
date of his death, aligns the Grand Cross with the horizon axis confirming our
thesis.
