Coma Berenices
Berenice's Hair
A new and surprising component of human hair has
just been discovered, according to research that will be presented today at the
annual meeting of the American Crystallographic Association, held in
Philadelphia. Human hair has been extensively studied for decades, but until
now, a complete understanding of its structure had proven elusive.
"Hair traditionally has been constituted of
three regions: medulla (central part of the hair), cortex (biggest volume
fraction of the hair) and the cuticle (external part of the hair),"
project leader Vesna Stanic, a scientist working at the Brazilian Synchrotron
Light Source, told Discovery News. July 29
In this
post we will see yet another example of how eclipses continue to create events
on earth long after they are gone. A
chart for the lunar eclipse of October 8, 2014 at Philadelphia is shown here.
Notice that the eclipse is placed powerfully on the horizon and is also part of
a T-square with Uranus-Pluto – a combination that is associated with new
understanding or scientific breakthroughs.
Andromeda
the chained woman
Here the eclipse Moon is conjunct the star
Alpheratz, alpha Andromeda. Alpheratz, Alpherat, and Sirrah derive from the
Arabians' Al Surrat al Faras, "the Horse's Navel", as this star
formerly was associated with Pegasus, whence it was transferred to the Woman's
hair (the top of Andromeda's head).
On the
Ascendant is the star Diadem. Alpha (α)
Coma Berenices, Diadem refers to the
wreath of jewels in Berenice's hair. The constellation, Coma Berenices, refers
to a classical story concerning the hair of Berenice II, the wife of Ptolemy
Soter III of Egypt [1].
If we now
progress the eclipse chart by the PSSR method to July 29, the date of the news, we find that
the angles have returned to their radix position thereby triggering the eclipse
and its T-square giving rise to a new scientific understanding of human hair!
