The tiny African state of Djibouti has reportedly
ordered the US to vacate its secondary Obock military base in the nation in a
bid to turn over the installation to the Chinese military and its contingent of
10,000 troops, raising major concerns in Washington, which holds the largest

To
understand this news we will begin with the Lunar Eclipse of April 4 drawn for Djibouti.
Notice that the eclipse axis makes a hard aspect to the MC suggesting that it
is important for the place. Here Uranus which is the ruler of the 7th
is placed in the 8th house. In mundane astrology, the 7th
house governs “treaties and agreements with other nations” [1] while the 8th
is issues connected with “death and decay” [2] or by association all manners of termination or endings. The ruler of the 7th
placed in the 8th points to the possibility of the ending of
agreements with other nations. Uranus
and the Sun are opposite the TNP Zeus and the Moon which are conjunct stars of
the “evil” bird Corvus, the Raven, in
tropical air sign Libra. This area is linked to flights and aviation. When
combined with the TNP Zeus, we can see that these flights are connected with
the military. With Uranus-Pluto square we have another hint that an old order
is collapsing. When we put all the elements
together, we begin to see why the agreement with the US for the use of the
military airbase is coming to an end.
But as
always, the question remains, why now. Well there are at least two triggers to
the eclipse chart. First, if we progress the eclipse chart to August 18, the
eclipse T-square aligns with the meridian. Second, in the last few days, transit
Jupiter and Saturn have formed a square that aligns with the Ascendant and IC of
the chart. A keyphrase for Jupiter-Saturn is “separation from difficult
circumstances”.
Finally,
we look at the chart for the current New Moon. It is placed in the 7th
house (agreements or partnerships) along with a retrograde Venus (change of
values) square separative Saturn in the 10th house. So once again
the lunation chart also points to an ending.
