Goat Hangs By Its Horns From Power Line

Cats regularly get stuck up trees, but a goat on a power line?! That was the surreal sight that greeted a group of guys near the village of Sykourio in central Greece last Wednesday. In keeping with my recent Mountain Astrologer series "Astrology of the Weird," which looks at anomalous events in the news, this odd item caught my eye. (How the heck did it get up there?) The article says that this happened last Wednesday--March 23rd. My first reaction was to wonder if there wasn't some significant Saturn (or Capricorn) aspect happening then, since goats are ruled by the planet Saturn and the sign Capricorn.

Turns out that was the day of the most recent Jupiter-square-Saturn. Could the Jupiterian influence relate to the fact that the goat apparently overreached and jumped too high? (Or to the fact there was a happy ending? Rest assured, had this happened under a Saturn/Pluto square, that goat would be barbecue.) If so, then this may well symbolize something broader happening in the global zeitgeist--but what, exactly?

The eclipses of March dominate the global zeitgeist. And since the solar eclipse activates the Jupiter-Saturn-Neptune T-square, the message is very clear. All “fantasy”or “dream” projects (Neptune) in which we have overreached (Jupiter) ourselves are going to fail (Saturn).

The Saturn element in fiery Sagittarius is conjunct  Ras Algethi, the alpha star of Hercules.  Also known by his Latin epithet,  Hercules was saltator, or “leaper”. Reckless “leaping” into any activity without a well thought of  “plan”,  “philosophy” or “worldview”(Jupiter in Virgo square Saturn in Sagittarius)  is going to leave us hanging like the silly billy.  On the world stage, the failure of the adventurism of US and its allies in Syria is a good example.

That  the goat was chosen by the cosmos to bring home this message can be seen from the solar eclipse progressed to March 23. On the Ascendant [7aq]  are the stars psi and omega Capricornus of the mountain goat. The MC activates Mars [1sa] which forms hard aspects to the Uranus-Pluto square. This configuration once again echoes reckless action and also bears out what Ray Grasse says about the electrical/power line element of the story.
