The Virgin and the Crow
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Trust in the news media is being
eroded by perceptions of inaccuracy and bias, fueled in part by Americans'
skepticism about what they read on social media.Just 6 percent of people say
they have a lot of confidence in the media, putting the news industry about
equal to Congress and well below the public's view of other institutions. In
this presidential campaign year, Democrats were more likely to trust the news
media than Republicans or independents. http://goo.gl/6yCR7x
The Sun
crossed the equator on March 20, 2016 at 12:31 am EDT, marking the beginning of
the Spring Season. Some astrologers use the Aries Ingress as the chart for the
year as it officially begins the growing season. Cast for Washington, D.C, the
Aries chart is quite powerful with a Saturn-Jupiter-Neptune T-square straddling
the meridian.
In his essay Saturn in Sagittarius: Finding Our
Authenticity and the Transparency of the Soul, Gahl Eden Sasson writes:
For the next three years, Saturn will demand
the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the Truth. Saturn in Sagittarius is
a polygraph, a cosmic lie detector. When we are not authentic, it will start
beeping and when Saturn beeps, it sounds more like a deafening siren.
Since Saturn
squares Neptune, the planet associated
with falsehoods and deception, we can see that the Aries Ingress at Washington
is applying pressure that the truth be revealed. We can see that in the recent efforts by Congressman Bob Graham seeking the
release of the redacted 9/11 documents. The
28-page chapter of the final report of a congressional investigation that has been withheld from the American people for
almost 13 years. This was not a cover-up. It was the result of aggressive
deception. The US government has purposely used deceit to withhold the truth.
But coming
back to the news report from the Associated Press about the results of a recent
poll which reveal that most Americans are now aware of the staggering dishonesty and reality
twisting that the mainstream, corporate news media engages in on a daily basis.
The AP news is dated April 18. If we now progress the Aries Ingress chart to
April 18, the progressed meridian triggers the Uranus-Pluto-TNP Zeus T-square. Conjunct
Zeus on the MC are stars of the Virgin and Corvus, the Raven:
Corvus is the Latin name for both the raven
and the crow and these two birds are usually paired together in mythology. From
the same family, their obvious intelligence and ingenuity, as well as their
distinctive caw, has given them a widespread association with trickery,
storytelling, the relaying of messages, and the serving of self-interest. But
the colour of their plumage has also drawn a universal connection with
malevolence, sinister forces, and ominous warnings. The stars of Corvus share
this reputation and the classical myths that relate to the constellation speak
of mistrust, shameful motives, insincerity, glorification in the misfortune of
others, and the bearing of bad news [1].
The Crow
is a talking bird, and these are people in love with gossip, tidings,
what’s happening, what’s new, what’s up – many journalists, newsmen and media
people are born under these stars. The worst of them become greedy, scavenging
and exploiting opportunists. But also
here are the stars of the Virgin which longs for “truth” and “purity”. Few other skyscapes are so polarized between
light and dark, clear air and suffocating darkness, with a tremendous conflict
between the Virgin’s honest, upright will-to-do good and the Hydra’s dark lair
of greed and arrogant self-interest [2].
Here the
Uranus-Pluto square represents a clash: courageous/warrior-like actions of
alternative media working on behalf of
the people's liberties (Uranus in Aries) vs. an intensification/consolidation
of power by institutional structures like the established western MSM facing
threats to their authority (Pluto in Capricorn). In the light of the dynamics
of the stars involved it is not too difficult to see why the ‘lying’ Raven is
being confronted by the ‘truth seeking ’ Virgin and we can clearly see who is winning.
