Oscar Pistorius sentenced to 6 years in prison

A South African judge sentenced Olympic sprinter Oscar Pistorius to six years in prison for his girlfriend's murder -- the latest ruling in a drawn-out case that has transfixed the nation for years. Pistorius killed Reeva Steenkamp at his home in an upscale Pretoria neighborhood in the early hours of Valentine's Day three years ago -- a killing he says was an accident, after he mistook her for an intruder, but one the prosecution called a deliberate act after the two had an argument.  July 6

A horoscope of Oscar Pistorius is available at Astro-Databank [1]. Based on this data his current precession corrected solar return chart with only chart elements relevant to our discussion is given here. One can easily see that the most prominent configuration is a T-square involving Uranus-Pluto-Venus straddling the meridian axis. When Pluto aspects Venus, it can be a descent into hell that passes through the most intense emotions. Pluto will try to show the darkest and even the most sick parts between two individuals in a loving relationship. It can bring to light absolutely unknown features of psyche. Here love at times becomes attached to the death drive.

Let us remember that Uranus in Aries can symbolize willful, insensitive, or even sociopathic depredations by individuals whose actions harm  the safety and well-being  of others. In such cases Pluto in Capricorn can represent powerful institutions like the law court here that defend the common good.

Progressing the solar return chart to July 6, 2016, the date of the new, brings the T-square to an alignment with the horizon thereby triggering it.

And readers who would like to see a confirmation of planets in transit can make a chart for Sun opposite Pluto (exact on July 8) at Pretoria. Notice that a Sun-Venus-Uranus-Pluto  T-square is aligned with the angles once again emphasizing the same players Venus-Uranus-Pluto. But more interesting is the star 66 Aurigae conjunct the Sun on the IC. Diana Rosenberg links Auriga to “crippling disabilities requiring wheel chairs”. In mythology the constellation, Auriga, is identified with Erichthonius, the son of the goddess Athena (Roman Minerva) and Hephaestus (Roman Vulcan) who, being deformed and unable to walk, invented the chariot.
