Apple
has warned that future investment by multinationals in Europe could be hit
after it was ordered to pay a record-breaking €13bn (£11bn) in back taxes to
Ireland. The world’s largest company was presented with the huge bill after the
European commission ruled that a sweetheart tax deal between Apple and the
Irish tax authorities amounted to illegal state aid. Aug. 30 https://www.theguardian.com/business/2016/aug/30/apple-pay-back-taxes-eu-ruling-ireland-state-aid
Many ordinary, wage-poor Irish workers, unemployed youth,
neglected hospital patients and impoverished pensioners are also infuriated by
what they see as the Dublin government’s betrayal of their needs in order to
suck up to the world’s richest corporation. The issue here is not merely an
Irish domestic affair. It is about how servile governments choose to pander to
capital and foreign investors while their own people are shafted. After three
years of investigation, the EC – the EU’s executive branch – ruled last week
that successive Irish governments had given the American multinational firm
“unfair and illegal state aid” by grossly undertaxing it to the tune of €13
billion ($14.5 billion).
This news about a servile Irish government choosing to help a foreign investor make money while its own people suffer in poverty can best be explained if we go back to lunar
eclipse of September 2015. The eclipse at Dublin took place in the 8th
house that is linked to business and corporate profits [1].
And progressing it
to Aug. 30, 2016, the date of the news, brings the eclipse and the associated Grand
Cross to the angles thereby triggering it. A lunar eclipse is a Full Moon that
brings the theme of the New Moon solar eclipse to a culmination. The following
edited extract from Nick Fiorenza post on the September 2015 lunar cycle
entitled “Winds of Change” explains the dynamics:
This solar eclipse
brings winds of change that inspire new outward expressions in our lives. The
Juno-Makemake North Lunar Node conjunction at this significant location in the
ecliptic indicates this eclipse prominently effects relationships of all types
along with emphasis on the administration of resources in relationships.
Makemake appears to
bring attention to leadership issues regarding the administration of resources;
and in areas involving economics, ecology and human survival. Makemake may also
impel strategic planning and enterprising action to create environmental
conditions that ensure a healthy, prosperous and abundant life for groups or
for the people in general. Makemake may also act to sort out those who are
truly worthy of being in a leadership role from those who are not.
The Full Moon brings
our Leo lunar theme to its culmination. It brings realization about our need to
clear our selves from any psychic and emotional webs of entrapment and to
redefine our focus, dedication and commitments from this resultant clarity.
This is prerequisite to having the discernment to see through the diversionary
commotion occurring in the world, and to function upon transcendent currents
guiding our lives into newer progressive modalities of living and
co-participating in our relations as we continue into our surely but slowly
manifesting new world paradigm.
In addition, the eclipse axis forms a Cross with the TNPs
Kronos-Hades opposite Pluto. Martha Wescott provides the following
interpretations for the elements involved.
Pluto-Kronos: to see a
testing of laws, compliance with regulations; manipulation through a defiance
of laws; attention to the finances of big business and regulations concerning
investments or royalty, interest rates and similar payments.
Hades-Pluto-Kronos :
Criminal financial dealings in high places; to attempt to achieve power by
disenfranchising others.
