The
funeral of Uzbekistan's President Islam Karimov, who died (on Sept.2) after a stroke this week aged 78,
has taken place in the city of Samarkand. Thousands lined the streets in both
Samarkand and in Tashkent, from where his coffin was earlier flown. Karimov,
one of Asia's most autocratic leaders, ruled for 27 years, and was accused by
human rights groups of harshly repressing dissent. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-37262972
An eclipse offers an opportunity to resynchronize our selves
with the ever-changing cosmic currents supporting our evolutionary progression
in consciousness. Eclipses are most
strongly felt in those places where they conjoin the angles. In these places
they tend to bring about significant endings
and new beginnings. The South Node Solar Eclipse of March 9 occurs on the horizon at Tashkent and is part
of a powerful T configuration containing the last quarter Jupiter-Saturn square.
This square impels movement and
expansion away from societal models, sociopolitical structures, and constructs
in our personal lives that have now become limiting and restricting to new
growth. In other words, we have grown as
far as the limits imposed by those constructs have permitted. It is now time to
either begin to change those constructs so they can allow a greater level of
growth, expansion and fulfillment, or to dismantle those constructs all
together. This Eclipse T-Square brings this to a crisis point [1].
Jupiter and the North
Node on the descendant are conjunct stars in the hind of the Lion which Nick
Fiorenza associates with authoritarian leaders [2] to whom the masses, lacking
discrimination, have given up their powers. This eclipse is bringing an end to
political structures that have so far depended on dictators.
Progressing the eclipse chart is always a good way to check
whether an eclipse is active on a particular date. A chart for the eclipse
progressed to Sept. 2, the date of President Karimov’s death brings the eclipse
axis once again alignment with the horizon axis, thereby triggering it.
Finally, in passing, we note that the September 1, solar
eclipse [9vi] took place on the MC [6vi] of Uzbekistan’s national chart [3]
which refers to the possibility of the death of a leader. The eclipse was square Saturn [10sa] which is conjunct the star Antares, marking the heart of the Scorpion and linked to heart attacks.
