Remember
when The NYT reported that its ad hoc campaign to boost revenue by selling
subscriptions in response to the vicious back and forth with Donald Trump, was
said to be a smashing success? Perhaps it was subscriptions for the crossword
puzzle because it appears the monetary success was not smashing enough, and
according to a just released note from executives Arthur Sulzberger and Mark
Thompson, the newspaper will vacate at least eight floors in its iconic
building, allowing it to "generate significant rental income" because
it is "frankly, too expensive to occupy this many floors when we don’t
truly need them."
Maybe
the lesson here is that when the newspaper business model no longer works, one
can just pivot into a REIT? Dec.17 http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-12-16/new-york-time-will-vacate-8-floors-its-headquarters-generate-significant-rental-reve
The cardinal ingresses of the Sun have a traditional
reputation as important mundane events. Shown here is the chart for the Libra Ingress of the Sun drawn for New York. Notice
that it carries a Mercury-Saturn-Neptune T-square. The dynamics of the Saturn-Neptune square
was discussed in a previous post from which the passage below has been extracted.
The ongoing square
between Saturn and Neptune has been and continues to be about knowing the
difference between fact and fiction. At worst, under the influence of this square
those already committed to veiling the truth will be spreading even more
stories intended to distract, bamboozle and manipulate already agitated
emotional bodies. Consider it an extended, endless episode of Wag the Dog. At
best, this square could reveal previously hidden information with the power to
clarify muddy waters and provide vital details. And this is not just in the
political arena. The power of this T-square is sure to be felt in individual
lives. So if you’ve been telling tales to yourself or others or living a lie,
get ready for a reckoning.
In other words, the time has come for a reality check if a person or a newspaper as in this story has
been living a lie. Apart from the fact that Mercury rules newspapers, here Mercury
is the ruler of the 8th while Saturn rules the 3rd and 4th
houses.
3rd house
rules “newspapers” [1].
4th house
rules “buildings” [2].
8th house
rules “financial obligations, debts, loans,
losses, money owed to others” [3].
Now if we progress the ingress chart to December 17, the date
of the news, we find that apex Saturn is on the MC triggering the T-square. So is
it at all a surprise if the New York Times has fallen on bad days and needs to rent
out property!
