In
Cambodia's capital, motorbike taxis are everywhere - but it's extremely rare to
see women drivers transporting tourists. Those who do are judged harshly. Katya
Cengel meets the young entrepreneur trying to change that. When they show up at
a Phnom Penh hotel in their tight red T-shirts and skinny jeans, people tend to
get the wrong idea about Renou Chea and her fellow Moto Girl Tour guides. Jan.5
In mundane astrology aspects between planets are studied
very carefully especially when those planets appear on the angles in any
particular place. On February 1, transit Mercury and Uranus formed a square in
the heavens. A chart for the exact aspect drawn for Phnom Penh has the square
as part of a larger T containing Jupiter-Pluto
straddling the angles. Moreover, Jupiter stationed retrograde on Feb. 6
triggering the T. Among other things, Uranus opposite Jupiter is about a
breakthrough in socio-cultural issues. Being the god of the road, Mercury at
the apex of the T is linked to modes of transportation so that girls in
Cambodia providing motorbike taxi service certainly comes under the rulership
of the T-square!
But there is a last bit of the jigsaw that we can see in the
stars that conjoin Uranus on the Ascendant. These are stars in the
constellation of the chained woman Andromeda, her father King Cepheus and the
sea monster Cetus. In our present context it is easy to see what this means.
Princess Andromeda chained represents the younger generation constrained by the
rules of the patriarchy (King Cepheus). The monster Cetus has in a sense
devoured Andromeda’s individuality or freedom to act as she pleases. Uranus,
the planet of freedom from constraints, is bringing about the change mentioned
in the news!
