Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh (born 15 August 1967) is a
controversial figure, who has worked as a guru, music producer, singer-songwriter,
actor, and filmmaker. He has been the head of the social group Dera Sacha Sauda
(DSS) since 23 September 1990. On 25 August 2017, a special CBI court
in Panchkula, Haryana, delivered its verdict in a sexual assault case regarding
a former Dera sadhvi, finding Gurmeet Ram Rahim guilty of two counts of rape. Singh
was taken into custody. More than 200,000 people had gathered
near the court premises ahead of the verdict in Panchkula, Haryana. Following
the conviction, 30 people were killed and another 80 were injured in violent
protests in parts of India with reports of widespread vandalism. On 26 August
2017, the Punjab and Haryana High Court ordered the police to seize the
properties of the group to compensate for the vandalism caused in protests by
his supporters.
In this post we will look at the deeper implication
of the news about Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh. Shown here is the noon chart for 15
August 1967, his reported date of birth. The Sun-Mercury-Jupiter conjunction is
an aspect astrologers would easily relate to a guru figure. But more
significantly, notice the TNP Hades squares the combination while the TNPs
Cupido-Poseidon sextiles it. Hades and Poseidon in fact make a sharp quincunx
aspect. Martha Wescott provides the following keywords:
Cupido-Poseidon: Groups
formed through ideas, beliefs, ideologies or religion.
Hades-Poseidon: Religions
that accent evil; to be aware of religious personnel who are involved in ugly
or criminal activities.
In his essay Hades
– Yesterday and Today, L. Blake Finley explains how Hades operates:
Hades
seems to trigger primal emotions, which can have both negative and positive
manifestations. Part of the problem in fully understanding Hades is that it
frequently correlates with obscure situations and subtle energies.... and the
most frequent purely physical manifestations of it that we see are all too
often in situations where subtle or metaphysical realities are neglected,
overlooked, or in transition to or from dense physical manifestation.
Hades
was often treated as the scapegoat, "bugaboo", or "dustbin of
our Solar System". It certainly can
have negative manifestations, just as all other planets can, and it likewise
should have positive manifestations which, as responsible astrologers, we
should seek to understand if we are to help clients deal with its very
high-impact transits and directions.
This
does not mean that the energies and issues of Hades are inherently primitive,
but they appear crude to cultures that shut such issues and energies out,
remain in denial of them, or push them aside as "inferior" or
"primitive" issues or behavior in favor of shallow symbols, and do
not seek to cultivate them to their constructive potential since their
existence is often denied.[1]
However, for our discussion here, perhaps the more important feature of Gurmeet
Ram-Rahim’s chart is the Uranus-Pluto
conjunction [19-22 Virgo]. On 25 August 2017, transit Saturn stationed direct [21
sag] square his radix Uranus-Pluto conjunction. Below we examine the meaning of
this conjunction and its current activation.
Historically when Uranus and Pluto have come
together revolutionary change has been the result. Richard Tarnas describes
well researched historic events centered around what happens with Uranus and
Pluto aspects in his book Cosmos and
Pysche. Any Uranus Pluto dynamic interaction – through either conjunction,
square or opposition – lasts anywhere from 10 to 15 years. The center point of
the current Uranus Pluto Square featured 7 exact squares that took place from
2012 to 2015.
Currently we have an unprecedented opportunity to
consciously co-create with the intended revolutionary changes occurring now.The
Pluto initiation process is intended to create empowerment. The Uranus process
is intended to create awakening and freedom. This means that every
disempowering belief and fear is being brought to awareness to be transformed.
The intent of Uranus and Pluto together
is to create Empowered Awakening and Freedom. This combination often radically
changes our perception of this reality and adds to our ability to connect with
possibilities we might not have even imagined before now. For this to happen, everything that is not
resonating with the empowered evolutionary possibilities of Awakening and
Freedom is surfacing to be transformed. This transformative process is often
messy and chaotic, as we move from the current fear based patriarchal model
that operates in duality and separation.
The extreme cultural and societal events of the
mid-1960s were a product of the Uranus-Pluto conjunction and the start of this
138-year Uranus-Pluto synodic cycle. The mid-1960s saw the emergence of the hippie movement which appeared concurrently in
the midst of a rising sexual revolution, in which many views of the status quo
on this subject were being challenged. This was also the period when Bhagwan
Rajneesh (Osho) started the Rajneesh Movement. During his lifetime he was
viewed as a controversial mystic, guru, and spiritual teacher. He advocated a
more open attitude towards human sexuality, earning him the sobriquet "sex
guru" in the Indian and later international press, although this attitude
became more acceptable with time.
The current square occurring is stimulating dynamic cultural and societal action based
upon what was set in motion in the 1960s, radical action that most likely will
increase as we fully enter the second quarter of this cycle, from 2015 onward,
especially through 2020. Let us also remember that the Uranus-Pluto conjunction
of the mid-60s took place in the Indian Lunar Mansion Purva Phalguni. About
this nakshatra, Dennis Harness writes:
The
Shiva Lingam is a symbol of this powerful and creative nakshatra. An incredible
zest for life can be experienced through Purva Phalguni. Sensual pleasure,
passion, love and affection are found in this asterism. Its primary motivation
is kama or healthy enjoyments. It is a lunar mansion of fulfillment, good luck,
well being and pleasure that is healing and revitalizing.
In conclusion, we need to ask ourselves whether we
can blame Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh entirely for the destruction caused by his
followers. Rather we need to ponder on what purpose he serves in the
greater scheme of things.
