iPhone 8: Disillusionment with technology

As the iPhone 8 goes on sale, questions remain over the demand for Apple’s latest offering following smaller crowds outside stores and a muted customer reaction. The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus, two of the three new iPhones in Apple’s 2017 lineup, went on sale around the world, starting in Australia where hundreds of people have usually gathered outside Apple’s Sydney city store for previous launches. But instead of queues winding down the street there were fewer than 30 people lining up before the store opened on Friday. Sept.23 https://goo.gl/Nuo7zo

Eclipses tend to bring about endings and new beginnings. Planetary configurations on the angles at any place  determine the areas of our lives affected by the eclipse.

Apple Inc. is an American multinational technology company headquartered in Cupertino, California that designs, develops, and sells consumer electronics, computer software, and online services. A chart for the last solar eclipse at Cupertino, California is shown here. Notice that the eclipse is anchored to a Uranus-Vulcanus-Apollon T-square on the angles. This T-square is part of a more complex configuration that includes Apollon and Neptune.

Apollon-Vulcanus: To be under pressure to achieve or perform in business,
Apollon-Uranus: Businesses that involve computers or electronics.
Uranus-Neptune: Disillusionment with technology especially those involving computers and electronics.
Admetus-Apollon: Frustration, obstacles and delays in business.

A Uranus-Neptune synodic conjunction took place in 1993. We are now entering the waxing semi-square phase of this cycle. A Uranus-Neptune cycle tends to correspond to developments that are subtle, surreptitious, and invisibly subversive to the status quo. On their surface, those developments seem to reinforce the existing narrative and support (or improve) continuity, but all the while they are actually undermining it, gradually dissolving the underpinnings of old structures, weakening the foundations.

With the eclipse highlighting the Uranus-Neptune aspect in California, Silicon Valley entrepreneurs who fervently believe in the power and goodness of technological “progress” or the “magic” of technology are likely to be disappointed.

Progressing the eclipse chart to September 22, the date of the iPhone 8 launch brings the eclipse to a square with horizon axis and Neptune (in the complex) to the IC thereby triggering the entire configuration leading to the unexpected disappointment with the product.
