My Lai Massacre: History In The Stars

Fifty years ago, a platoon of US soldiers stormed the quiet hamlet of My Lai in South Vietnam, unleashing a barrage of gunfire, grenades and sexual assault which left as many as 500 dead.

On March 16, 1968 an army unit entered My Lai. The troops were ordered to lay waste to anything "walking, crawling or growing" on a search and destroy mission that lasted four hours and left the village razed to the ground. Not even crops or livestock were spared. The atrocities of My Lai would remain largely hidden for 20 months, until vivid images and accounts of the massacre appeared in newspapers, shocking Americans and sparking massive anti-war protests.

The table  below gives the solar arc directions and transits for the US Sibly in  1967-68, covering the period of the My Lai Massacre.

*** END REPORT ***

Notice that the progressed Ascendant triggers the radix Mars-Neptune square. And slow moving transit Pluto (“hour hand’)  squares Mars while the fast moving transit Sun (“minute hand”) acts as the final trigger.

Mars-Pluto's intense energy and fanatic drive to win has a dark side. Reinhold Ebertin mentioned war victims and victims of violent acts. http://astropost.blogspot.in/2014/09/ebertin-spot-on-mars-pluto-and-brutal.html

But  let’s get back to some basics. The Sibly Mars [21ge22] is conjunct the star Alnitak [21ge33], zeta (ΞΆ) Orion while Neptune [22vi25] is conjunct Alkaid [23vi46]. Orion as pictured above with his raised club is a heartless Hunter or Warrior while Neptune is associated with the weak and vulnerable.  Diana Rosenberg links the stars conjunct Neptune with “massacres”. Pluto and Uranus were here at the My Lai masscare of 16 March 1968. And just two days before transit Sun formed a sharp opposition to transit Uranus with the opposition axis falling square the horizon at My Lai almost as though choosing this place for the grisly drama to be played out.
