In this post we examine the chart for the foundation of Israel to
identify a trait in its collective
psyche that explains why as a nation Israel
goes over the top attacking its neighbours. The horoscope of Israel as
provided by Astro-databank [1] is reproduced here. For our discussion, the significant factor is
the Saturn-Pluto square to the nodal axis. Here the South Node is in Scorpio and the
North Node in Taurus. The South Node refers to our past and more importantly
the need to get out of the habits connected with its sign. About the South Node in Scorpio, Steven
Forrest writes in his book Yesterday’s
Sky:
Sadistic violence.
Terrible dark events do happen and when they do they leave behind marks on the
soul that experience them. A person with the South Node in Scorpio has known such extremity in a prior life. (This
is not necessarily referring to a previous life but the past in this life too…recall
that Israel was formed as a nation for Jews who had been persecuted in Europe
during WWII)….And that brings us to the North Node which lies in Taurus. Here
the evolutionary emphasis lies in calming down – literally of getting over the
process that brought this soul to its present state of agitation. Karma is
habit. Doing north node work is unnatural business. It takes not only
tremendous courage to do it, but also a willingness to improvise, to face
embarrassment, to feel insecure and vulnerable.
The second important factor in the analysis is planets that
make hard aspects to the nodes. Here we have Pluto squaring the
nodes. About this Steven Forrest writes:
Pluto in Hard
Aspect to the South Node.
“Nightmare” is a useful word when Pluto lies
in hard aspect to the South Node. Life is full of terrible possibilities…sadistic
violence, accidents we can barely contemplate, the evil acts of lost souls.
With this aspect one was probably touched by flat-out evil. As a result there
exists a fear or rage or perhaps a morbidity that afflicts our mental
equilibrium in this life. Paranoia about looming catastrophe can be projected
onto innocent fabric, as if demons were afoot. This can lead to a generalized
feeling of mistrust.
On Jan. 31, 2018, a powerful Total Lunar Eclipse fell on
Israel’s radix Saturn-Pluto conjunction.
This Full Moon conjoined
stars in the midst of sidereal Cancer—the Egyptian Scarabaeus. Praesepe
embodies the essence of the Scarab / Cancer theme: our emergence out of
darkness, dogma, and delusion, and our re-awakening back to Light--much like
the beetle emerges from its own dung. Praesepe is of new beginnings, migration,
shedding old skins, skeletons, and cocoons. It is of emerging out of the
collective frenetic confusion of mass consciousness; finding our new path and
direction; leaving behind old dwellings and the structures of consciousness
they represent; and getting out of our personal or collective dogma and the
darkness it creates. http://www.lunarplanner.com/LunarMonths2003/lunarmonth.03.04.01.html
Eclipses provide opportunities for change. Can Israel rise
up to this challenge and change its aggressive behavior towards its neighbors?
Only time will tell.
