The
heat has been rising recently in the relationship between the US and Germany.
Despite Washington’s regular attempts to bring its allies to heel under the
auspices of their cooperation as part of NATO and the fabricated threat of a
“common enemy” as represented by Russia, Europe’s largest economy is
increasingly irritating its transatlantic partner by strengthening its own
positions. The main reason for this is purely economic in nature. After all, in
political terms Germany has remained a US protectorate and even an officially
occupied country ever since the end of World War II. But in an economic sense,
the opposite picture has emerged — the US is now practically a German colony.
America’ trade deficit with that country is perilously close to $70 billion a year,
taking the honors for second place and trailing behind only the imbalance in US
commerce with China. April 24 https://orientalreview.org/2018/04/24/trade-war-between-the-us-and-germany/
To understand this news we begin with the chart of
Germany (Reunification Oct.3, 1990; 0:00
am CET) [1] and superimpose the US Sibly progressed Sun [13pi] to check how it
affects the German chart. What do we get? This forms a T with the radix Mars [12ge] in 11th
square Moon [18pi] in the 8th house of the German chart.

house in Mundane Astrology: Friends and
allies of the nation. http://www.skyscript.co.uk/temples/h11.html
The 8th house in Mundane Astrology: The national debt; Financial
relations with foreign countries. http://www.skyscript.co.uk/temples/h8.html
From the definitions of the 11th and 8th
houses, we can clearly see that friends (11th) are at loggerheads (square)
over a trade imbalance (8th).
