Eclipse as a kaleidoscope of energies

NY Times - NATO summit meetings were once ritualistic events, with the member nations assembling to proclaim that the alliance had never been stronger and pledging to work together on the security issues of the day.In the Trump era, however, they have become anxiety-producing confrontations where the main object is to avoid long-term damage to the military alliance.

CNN -President Donald Trump said his easiest meeting on his foreign trip to Europe during the next week may be his sit down with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Trump spoke to reporters before leaving for the NATO summit in Brussels, the first stop on his trip. He then plans to travel to the United Kingdom where he will hold talks with Prime Minister Theresa May and meet with Queen Elizabeth II. Trump will have his first standalone summit with Putin in Helsinki, Finland, Monday.

A solar eclipse is a worldwide phenomena and does not affect all places equally. The solar eclipse of July 13 falls on the star Castor of the Gemini Twins. About Castor, Nick Fiorenza writes:

Castor is the liaison in the world of daily human affairs, and is of partnerships and cooperation. Castor brings resources and people together that serve to get logistics accomplished in the world of business and commerce.

But this is only the positive interpretation of the Twins. Quite often the Twins are at loggerheads. Notice in the picture above, while they hug each other (co-operation), they also carry weapons in one hand (fighting).

To evaluate how an eclipse is likely to affect a place, astrologers primarily look at the planetary configurations that align with the angles. In this post  we will study how the solar eclipse of July 13 is likely to manifest in (a) Brussels – the venue for the NATO meeting on July 12  (b) Helsinki – the venue for the Trump-Putin meeting on July 16.

Shown here are the charts for the solar eclipse at Brussels and Helsinki.  Notice that at Brussels we have a Hades-Kronos-Saturn-Cupido opposition aligned with the horizon axis. A simple interpretation for this configuration is:

Hades-Kronos-Saturn-Cupido:  to feel that regulations, governments or leaders (Kronos) – and the delays or restrictions (Saturn) they impose – contribute to a decline (Hades) in group unity (Cupido).

It is well known that the NATO alliance is in a state of high tension heading into the Brussels summit . with Trump demanding that all members pay their fair share of the budget. In addition there is an obvious personal antipathy of the U.S. president toward the alliance in general and some of the key leaders in particular. Donald Trump’s open dislike of Germany’s Angela Merkel, the U.K.’s Theresa May and Canada’s Justin Trudeau, for example, feels deeply rooted and intractable.

Now look at the  eclipse chart at Helsinki.  Here a Grand Cross containing Uranus-Apollon-Node  straddles the horizon.  This is an entirely different energy which can be summarized as follows:
Uranus-Node-Apollon:  The formation of new associations (Uranus-Node) presents opportunities for  expansion and growth (Apollon).

The July 16 Trump-Putin summit if successful will lead to a new association  in the face of near-total establishment opposition. It  should ultimately bring  peace to a war-weary world and new opportunities for growth.

Look at how different these energies are. It is almost as though  the choice of the venue is conditioning (not deciding) the outcome!

PS: Readers who care to make the eclipse chart for London will find the same Hades-Kronos-Saturn-Cupido opposition aligned with the horizon axis. Notice that events in London are bearing out the meaning of this configuration too.
