According
to researchers at the Economic Policy Institute (EPI), a Washington, D.C.-based
liberal think tank, the top 1 percent of American families took home
approximately 26.3 times as much income as the bottom 99 percent in 2015— a 4
percent increase from 2013. The
report titled “The New Gilded Age: Income inequality in the U.S. by state, metropolitan
area, and county,” is authored by Estelle Sommeiller, socio-economist at the
Institute for Research in Economic and Social Sciences in France and Mark
Price, an economist at the Keystone Research Center in Harrisburg,
Pennsylvania, who warned about the alarming trends in income inequality
spreading across the country. https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-07-24/researchers-warn-income-inequality-us-getting-worse-it-was-intentional
In mundane astrology, the cardinal ingresses of the Sun have
a traditional reputation as the most important mundane event. Each cardinal
ingress of the Sun oversees a three month period. The Sun entered Cancer on 21
June 2018 so that the current period is under the influence of the Cancer
ingress chart. At Washington, DC where
the Economic Policy Institute (EPI) is based, the Cancer ingress chart has the
Sun-conjunct theTNPs Kronos-Hades on the
Ascendant opposite Saturn on the descendant.
The TNP Kronos rules people in high places for example the
top 1% mentioned in the report. The TNP Hades, on the other hand, rules the
poor and underprivileged, which in our case here would be the bottom 99%. The
Sun shining its light on the conjunction is highlighting the contrast while
Saturn opposite is forcing a recognition of this depressive reality.
