New Moon causes a water main burst in Calcutta

Entire north, central and large parts of south Kolkata went dry on Saturday afternoon as the Kolkata Municipal Corporation water supply department engineers struggled to repair a leak in a 72” underground pipeline considered to be the lifeline of the city’s water supply system. Sep.22

This is not some big international news which I normally focus upon in my blogs. The only reason for including it here is to illustrate some important mundane astrology principles. Let us look at chart for the current  New Moon at Kolkata (Calcutta). Notice that it is placed on the 4^th house cusp (IC) opposite Neptune on the MC and makes hard aspects to the Mars-Uranus square.  When Mars, the planet  associated with mechanical equipments squares Uranus a planet associated with upsets and disruptions, it is not surprising to hear of  a sudden mechanical failure.  Moreover, since Neptune occupies the midpoint of Mars-Uranus we are hearing about leak in a water pipeline [1].  

The following reference from Skyscript [2] explains the jurisdiction of the 4^th house:

Supplies that feed the nation from beneath the earth - such as the pipes of the water or gas industry: Raphael notes: "Uranus in the 4th is an especially evil influence, denoting serious trouble to water companies".

Here Uranus is not in the 4^th house but afflicts the New Moon placed on the 4^th cusp (IC)  which is much the same thing.
