Khmer Rouge verdict

For the first time, two leaders of Pol Pot's Khmer Rouge regime in Cambodia have been convicted of genocide. His deputy Nuon Chea, 92, and head of state Khieu Samphan, 87, faced trial on charges of exterminating Cham Muslim and ethnic Vietnamese communities. This was the first genocide verdict given by the UN-backed tribunal on Pol Pot's brutal 1975-1979 regime. Up to two million people, mostly from the Khmer majority, are believed to have died during those four years. Nov. 16  https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-46217896

This November 7, 2018 New Moon conjoins Zubenelgenubi  of Libra. Zubenelgenubi is the southern scale of our modern constellation Libra—the scales of justice. It  is the karmic seat in the zodiak. It exemplifies the manifestation of the results of our past experience and patterns of growth [1]. It is therefore not surprising that a tribunal is delivering justice to the victims of  20th century’s  greatest horror.

Presented here is the chart for the First Quarter Moon of Nov. 15 drawn for Phnom Penh. The Moon is placed in the 8th house.

Eighth House In Mundane Astrology:
Danger to the people through war or national disasters; Public mortality

So we are looking at “public mortality” on a genocidal scale. But let us examine the elements of the chart in detail. The Sun [23sc] is among stars of the Centaur , the Dragon and Libra’s Scales of Justice.

About these stars, Diana Rosenberg writes

Here Libra’s Scales have a hard time keeping order and balance and sometimes they lose the struggle , reverting to their ancient role as the extended claws of the Scorpion: murderers, mass killers and criminals are found under these stars. Lupus  often depicted dangling from the spear of Centaurus  was referred to as “victima” – the victim.

These stars were transited  at the 1527 Winter Solstice just before Genghis Khan’s grandson Hulagu pillaged and burned Baghdad massacring more than 400,000 Muslims; in 1572 at the St. Bartholomew’s Eve Massacre of Huguenots, Paris; at the Sept. 1838 solar eclipse preceding the “Trail of Tears”- a forced resettlement of American Indians in winter on foot, thousands perished; in 1929 at the Saint Valentine’s  Day Massacre of Chicago gangsters; in 1994 at the start of the Ruandan genocide: militia of the ruling majority ethnic killed hundred of thousands of the minority Tutsi.

The First Quarter Moon, [23aq] occurring on November 15, lies in late sidereal Capricorn conjoining Sadalsuud of Aquarius and Deneb Algedi and Nashira of Capricorn. Nick Fiorenza tells us that these stars are associated with good news especially connected with law courts and legalities. [2] This then is the reason why justice is being delivered now.

Yet there are still a few unanswered questions.  After all lunations apply generally to the entire world. What is it that makes Phnom Penh, the focus of the First Quarter  Moon’s  energies? To answer this question we look at planets and stars that aspect the angles which are more specific for a place.

On the descendant and conjunct the South Node are stars of Aquila, the Eagle and Sagitta, the Archer. Both these constellations are linked to warfare and excessive cruelty. Diana Rosenberg gives several examples  - the massacre of Sioux at Wounded Knee by US Cavalry in 1890; the Rape of Nanking in 1937-38 by Japanese troops among others.

Readers may also like to look at the stars that form the backdrop to Mercury and Neptune both of which make hard aspects to the Nodal axis aligned with the horizon. They will find  that these stars are connected with massacres on a large scale.

Finally, notice that the Sun and Moon make hard aspects to the TNPs Kronos-Hades – a combination that among other things rules “infamous leaders”.
