On why the car industry is in decline

Phaethon

NEW DELHI — India’s auto parts industry could be forced to slash a fifth of its 5 million or so workforce if the slowdown in vehicle sales continues, the president of the country’s largest industry group for auto parts makers said. India’s auto industry is in the middle of one of its worst slumps. Passenger vehicle sales fell 18.4% in the first quarter, and monthly passenger vehicle sales in June fell by the biggest margin in 18 years.  July 26 https://bit.ly/2Oo1FC9

New car sales have been slumping in many of the world's major auto markets. In China, sales were down more than 12 percent in the first six months of the year. In the United States, after many years of strong sales, many consumers are driving vehicles that don't need to be replaced.  Jul 23 NYTimes

It may surprise readers that the reason for the slump in the auto industry in general and more specifically for India can be seen in the chart for the current solar eclipse of July 2. Let us see how. Here is the chart for the eclipse for Delhi, India. Notice that the eclipse is on the lower meridian conjunct the TNP Hades (decline) and opposite Saturn (severe difficulties). Now here is the interesting part. The asteroid Phaethon (cars) [1] is also on the IC conjunct the eclipse. Martha Wescott [2] interprets the combination Hades-Saturn as under:

Hades-Saturn: to be aware of severe unemployment, poverty or other debilitation of long duration; to hear of  long term situations  that are growing worse or in a state of decline.

And if we add Phaethon to this interpretation we can see why the car industry is affected. Since the eclipse is worldwide in scope, we are seeing a decline in sales and increasing unemployment for the industry. But at places like India where the eclipse aligns with the angles, the effect is felt even more prominently.
