A
senior Goldman Sachs executive working at the Bengaluru office in India was
arrested earlier this week for stealing $5.3 million from the firm to pay down
his gambling debts, reported Business Today. The fraud surfaced on September 6
during an internal audit. Ashwani Jhunjhunwala, 36, the firm's vice president,
was arrested and will arrive in court in the near term, deputy commissioner of
police MN Anucheth told the news agency.
Events on earth are driven by the energies provided by the
planets. To better understand these energies, astrologers routinely cast
horoscopes for exact planetary aspects. While the effect of these aspects are
worldwide in scope, those places where the planets occupy the angles are the
ones most affected. At Bangalore, the Mercury-Jupiter square of Sep.6 brings
the Mercury-Jupiter-Neptune T-square to a perfect alignment with the meridian. (Compare this news with a similar event of
fraud in India [1])
Neptune in astrology is well known as the planet of
deception and fraud. Mercury considered
the god of thieves and businessmen was referred to as a trickster…he could be
crafty, calculating and false.
About Mercury-Neptune, astrologer Patrick Watson writes:
In astrology, Mercury
is the messenger planet of communication, calculation and language, logic and
rationality, neutrality and impartiality. Neptune is the illusionist planet of
spectacle and fantasy, all that is synthetic and virtual, glitzy and glamorous,
dreamlike and nightmarish. Together, their interaction tracks the life cycle,
evolution and complex of communal storytelling and irrationality, the verbal
and written traditions of myth and imagination, and accompanying departures
from accuracy and reality. This cycle is associated with impracticality,
delusions, myth-making, tall tales, unreliable narrators, media propaganda,
conspiracy theories, distractions, frauds, hoaxes, absurdism, surrealism,
nonsense, inspiring or deceptive language. https://patrickwatsonastrology.com/mercury-and-neptune-tall-tales-fantasy-fiction-and-fake-news/
Expansive Jupiter and dreamy Neptune, can fuel our “bohemian
rhapsodies”. But if we tip too far into dishonesty,
indulgence & addiction it provides the necessary cosmic
checks-and-balances—uncomfortable “medicine” that can heal us if we grasp the
lesson. But more often than not, many
choose to ignore the lesson, hit “rock bottom” with an addictive or
self-defeating pattern and find themselves in trouble with the law.
We can see how well the foregoing describes the driving
force behind the Goldman Sach executive’s stealing to pay down his gambling debts.
Finally, take a look at the Sabian[2] symbol for Jupiter
[16sa] on the Ascendant.
PHASE 256 (SAGITTARIUS 16°): SEA GULLS FLY AROUND A SHIP IN EXPECTATION
OF FOOD.
KEYNOTE: The easily
acquired dependence of psychic desires upon the stimulation of social
circumstances.
Animals drawn into the
circle of what human society produces find it easier to depend on man's
handouts than to pursue their usually difficult search for sustenance. The sea
gulls here symbolize the more wild and normally untamable energies of the human
soul. Natural instincts feed on the
reactions, and often perversions, of the socially conditioned mind-ego.
In the present context, the symbol is hinting at the temptation
to commit criminal acts or fraud misusing the high position that society may
have placed the individual in.
