Malaysian
Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad submitted his resignation to the country's king
on Monday, his office announced, a shock move that could plunge the country
into political crisis. The surprise announcement comes amid speculation that
94-year-old Mahathir was attempting to form a new ruling coalition that would
exclude his promised successor Anwar Ibrahim. Mahathir's party, the Malaysian
United Indigenous Party (Bersatu) announced Monday it would be dropping out of
the ruling coalition Pakatan Harapan in support of the prime minister. Feb. 24

Astrologers have long recognized the effect of eclipses
in mundane astrology. In his book Mundane
or National Astrology, H.S. Green wrote:
The strongest
effect (of an eclipse) is felt in those parts in which it is visible,
especially if it is also angular, i.e. rising, culminating or setting. The
influence of an eclipse considered as a malefic, brings trouble through affairs
governed by the mundane house in which it falls. If the luminary has a
preponderance of good aspects, the evil effects will be lessened. The question
of course arises as to whether the influence of the eclipsed Sun or Moon,
considered quite apart from other heavenly bodies and their aspects, really is always malefic.
That it is so sometimes seems beyond dispute.
He then goes on to explain that system weakness is the
real cause of the disaster and if this is removed, eclipses may be beneficial
in the long run, however alarming the change might seem to one who was
unprepared for it. Eclipses are sometimes followed by great changes in affairs
rather than by disasters or misfortunes only.
Presented here is the chart for the last total solar
eclipse drawn for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Notice that it is placed in the 10th
house conjunct the great benefic Jupiter. In the 10th house, an
eclipse is considered unfortunate for the Government. But the conjunction with
Jupiter appears to imply that the changes that the eclipse brings about may be
eventually good for the Government.
Notice that the TNPs Cupido-Hades-Kronos
also straddle the eclipse. Cupido stands for families or groups . With Kronos
it can refer to “ruling coalitions”. Add
Hades and you have a sense of decline. That is exactly what the news tells us.
We may conclude that Mahathir’s efforts to dissolve the current coalition and
form a new one may in the long run be quite successful.
But why was the solar eclipse triggered just now. Well
for one thing, we have a simple rule. Eclipses are triggered when fast moving
planets move over the eclipse degree. Mars [4cp] is currently transiting over
the eclipse and bringing its effect into full manifestation.
In passing, I add that readers may like to look at their
charts. If the eclipse degree is significant in their charts, it is possible
for them to see endings or new beginnings in matters connected with groups or
families.
