Archer and the Eagle
Turkish
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin are meeting
today in Moscow in an attempt to resolve differences over the conflict in Syria—this
time, with very high stakes. Tensions have risen between Turkey, which backs
some rebel groups, and Russia, which backs the Syrian regime. The leaders haven’t
met face-to-face since Syrian forces launched an offensive in rebel-held Idlib,
drawing in thousands of Turkish troops and displacing nearly 1 million people
who Erdogan fears could end up crossing the border into Turkey. March 5
Eclipses tend to bring about endings and new beginnings. The
influence of an eclipse is strongly felt if it aligns with the horizon or
meridian. Lunar eclipses can be about releasing bonds within ourselves that glue us to
involvements that are less than we truly want or deserve. They are also about
the emotional and experiential aspects of our relations with others and with
the world in general. Lunar eclipses provide opportunity to redefine our
conceptual understanding of our life experience.
Shown here is the chart of the lunar eclipse of July 16,
2019 drawn for the midpoint between Ankara and Moscow. Since the eclipse aligns
with the meridian, it has a very important message for the Russia-Turkey
relationship. Moreover with Pluto now transiting exactly over the eclipse Moon,
this chart is active.
Saturn-Pluto alignments are associated with power
struggles that lead to crisis and conflict, empowerment of reactionary
forces and totalitarian impulses, organized violence and oppression, all
sometimes marked by lasting traumatic effects. It can lead to outbursts or
violent anger and can also represent the
moment in which a situation reaches its culmination, exploding, and giving rise
to some new circumstance.
Saturn in Capricorn
is all about control. To lose control is to enter into the realm of chaos
- a threatening prospect that Capricorn
fears. But Pluto is a pattern disrupter and deprogrammer. Its transit through
Capricorn is serving to destroy Capricorn’s false walls in order to expose the
corrupt workings of the system. The S.Node indicates patterns of the past that
need to be released because they are no longer workable. More specifically,
Saturn, Pluto and the S.Node are placed amid the stars of the Archer and
Aquila, the Eagle, both easily recognizable symbols of war. So war mongering is
a pattern that needs to be released.
The Turkish President Erdogan (b. 26 Feb. 1954; 4:25 am EET;
Istanbul) has his Ascendant [18cp] conjunct N.Node [22cp] in Capricorn. The
Saturn-Pluto conjunction in the eclipse chart aligns with his Asc-Node so that he
must deal with the issues highlighted above. In his essay “Erdogan is in serious political trouble”, Tom Luongo writes:
It looks like Turkish
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is headed for the political gallows a lot
quicker than I ever thought. He's trying to become the Overlord of the Middle
East, and it will destroy him. His offensive in Idlib has bogged down. And a
day before he’s scheduled to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in
Moscow Erdogan Turkish parliament degrades quickly as opposition speaks out
against his Syria campaign.
Nice!
