Mt. Sinabung eruption : Heart’s passion released

Volcano erupting – heart's passion released

Mount Sinabung in Indonesia erupted Monday, sending a column of volcanic ash more than 16,000 feet into the sky and dumped debris on nearby towns. Videos and photos have been posted on social media showing the volcano belching ash. Smaller rumblings started over the weekend, though the largest eruption was on Monday. July 10

The monthly rhythm of the Lunation Cycle (the cycle of relationship between the Sun and the Moon) is perhaps the most important planetary cycle. Astrologers routinely draw charts for the New Moon and the Full Moon to understand the energies operating at any place of interest. As always planetary configurations brought to the angles (horizon or meridian) are the ones to focus on. Here is the chart for the current New Moon of July 21 drawn for the co-ordinates of Mount Sinabung. Notice the New Moon opposite Saturn-Pluto axis is aligned with the meridian. Over the weekend transit Mars and Moon have triggered the configuration. This implies that the explosive Saturn-Pluto energy was going to felt at Mount Sinbung and of course in many other places in South East Asia that are close by.

In Roman mythology, Pluto was the lord of the underworld while Saturn was the founder of civilizations and of social order, and conformity.  Metaphorically Saturn can be thought of as the hard rocky layer that keeps the boiling lava (Pluto)  of earth’s interior safely deep inside.  Compare that with the primal passions (Pluto)..more appropriately authentic needs of human beings kept in check by the social order (Saturn).

When a lunation (New Moon or Full Moon) activates Saturn-Pluto we often witness an explosive release of the boiling cauldron of lava in a volcano that breaks past the protective rocky layer.

On an individual level, the New Moon’s explosive energy can prompt the development of a more authentic rather than synthetic way of living. Many people are living tragic lives because they have been taught to believe that there is no other way for them to exist.

Under the pressure of the New Moon, there may be a realization that the liability of conformity can come with a high price tag. Pluto’s transit through Capricorn is serving to break outmoded and artificial standards, to decimate the hypocrisies of social convention, and of social extremes. It also brings emphasis to address patterns of avoidance or fears to relinquish diminishing modes of living, or fabricating reasons justifying disempowerment and inaction by blaming external conditions. This requires determination and conviction to willingly choose to live authentically and from true heart's passion.

PS:

Chicago has been gripped by large-scale rioting and looting, believed to have been sparked by a police shooting in the city. Law enforcement are reportedly struggling to restore order. Aug 10

Here too the New Moon-Saturn-Pluto axis aligns with the meridian. Breakdown (Pluto)of law and order (Saturn). Metaphorically another kind of eruption!
