The horoscope of the Democratic Party [1] can help explain the news. With progressed Sun now conjoining radix Uranus, the most relevant aspect in the chart is the Grand Cross formed by the Uranus-Vulcanus opposition squaring the horizon axis.

Uranus the Great Awakener supports the break-down of established patterns or structures that have out-lived their usefulness to replace them with creative new structures.
