Bernadette Brady on Solar Eclipse of December 2020

In predictive astrology eclipses can give very mixed outcomes often they seem to vary dramatically from one eclipse to another. In the past astrologers have taken to examining the chart of a particular eclipse.

However, far better results can be achieved by stepping back and looking at the geometry of how eclipses occur, not on the individual level but rather on the larger cyclic playing field of life. For each seemingly isolated eclipse belongs to a larger pattern, each eclipse is a member of a family and each family has particular characteristics.

By back-tracking along the trail of eclipses within a given saros series one can find the very first eclipse of the series and therefore the exact moment that that eclipse occurred. This gives a "birth chart" for a particular saros series and this chart sets the theme of expression of every other resulting eclipse in the series [1].

The December 14, 2020 solar eclipse belongs to the series 4 South about which Brady writes:

Saros Series 4 South

Starts: March 19, 1624, 4:25:46 GMT South Pole; Ends: May 15, 2868

The series carries with it very strong emotional feelings concerning relationships and/or money. There could be anger or lust. There is a sense of fatedness and individuals may find themselves caught up in relationship events which are beyond their control. There could also be the sudden desire to finish a relationship. These emotions may be blocked or checked in some way, leading to a great deal of frustration. The best approach to this eclipse is to avoid rash action until the issues settle down.

The previous eclipses in the Saros 4 South series:

Eclipses 1900-2050: 1912, 1930, 1948, 1966, 1984, 2002, 2020, 2038. ( approx. effective +/- 1 year)

PS:

To the above analysis we can add the stars that conjoin the First Eclipse in the Saros Series. In this case it is the star Deneb Kaitos about which Nick Fiorenza writes:

Deneb Kaitos (Diphda) and Iota form the thrashing tail of Cetus. Deneb Kaitos, although the Beta star, is brighter than Menkar, Alpha Ceti, which mark the jaws of Cetus. Deneb Kaitos creates a strong emotional turbulence, bringing the potential to get knocked down and thrashed around due to the inability to lift one’s self above the dramatics of the intense psycho-emotional forces of the human world and its bureaucracies. The stars of Cetus contribute significantly to the energetic of sidereal Pisces.

Also conjoining are Eta and Theta of Cepheus, and Eta Horologium. They impel a warning, a sense of impending time and the need for aid to slip by the dangers of the thrashing tail. They can also indicate an emotional barrier to cross or an emotional tension to relinquish. They make us aware that emotional and psychic clarity is of issue.

Deneb Kaitos  brings emphasis to emotional clarity and how to participate in the world without being reactively dragged around by emotion, how to lift self from drowning in our emotions or in the emotional dramatics of others. This specific few degree area of Pisces tends to incite dramatic articulation from emotional turbulence. It can also be calculating and criticizing, seeking details that are dark and hidden, often pointing out the negative in an effort to help, or manipulate, an approach that is often antagonizing, creating even more turbulence.
