Perceiving patterns of meaning

“What makes astrology supremely relevant is that it discloses an unsuspected dimension of the world we think we know so well. It is as though we have become accustomed to see only the horizontal yarn of the weaving, the weft, and are largely unaware of the warp. We are accustomed to break down our world, in order to understand it, into certain categories, recognizing what belongs to this category, what belongs to that. That is ‘scientific’. However, astrology is about learning to think in new categories. It embodies a system of new categories that are as different from the ones to which we are habituated, as the warp is from the weft. In this system objects and events that at first sight appear to have nothing whatever to do with each other are shown to be intimately connected. Conversely, things we naturally tend to associate may be distributed otherwise in the astrological scheme. Understanding the world around us depends on our power to perceive patterns of meaning, to make the right connections, recognize what belongs with what. It is not easy. Unaided, it is as if we are looking at the weaving from the wrong side, and it seems a mess, but with the help of astrology we can see the design as it is meant to be. As the shuttle of the cosmic loom ceaselessly weaves its intricate design, astrologers have the responsibility, or rather the awesome privilege, to work towards restoring to humanity the sense of high meaning it has all but lost.”

Two trains collided on Friday in southern Egypt apparently after someone activated the emergency brakes, killing at least 32 people and leaving 108 injured. The collision caused three passenger cars to flip over and videos on local media from the scene showed wagons with passengers trapped inside and surrounded by debris. https://bit.ly/2PsrFN

For the first time, three Russian Navy nuclear-powered submarines have surfaced from under the Arctic ice simultaneously. A video released by the Ministry of Defense shows the vessels coming up for air as part of naval exercises. https://on.rt.com/b4pa

It used to be believed that astrology revealed  destined fate, that a chart was rigidly deterministic. Properly understood, however, astrological configurations present challenges. Success or failure to overcome the challenge depends  on our level of consciousness.  The more deeply we understand the  forces that affect our lives, the more free we can be in our dealings with them. If we are altogether unconscious of these potent forces, we are like puppets of the archetypes and likely to meet with failures.

As an example, in this post, we will look at some of the challenges presented by the lunar eclipse of Nov. 30, 2020 Shown here are the charts for the lunar eclipse drawn for Cairo, Egypt and Moscow Russia. Notice the similarity. In each case the eclipse is aligned very significantly with the meridian. The eclipse Moon is conjunct the TNP Admetus on the IC (currently triggered by transit Mars).

Mars represents the principle of energetic force. It symbolizes that part of the psyche which impels us to act, to assert ourselves, to struggle, to press forward and against, to be courageous and vigorous, to be competitive or combative. It governs the capacity for aggressiveness, anger, and physical energy, as well as tendencies toward injury, violence, and impulsiveness.

The TNP Admetus is linked to obstacles, hindrance, stagnation and cold (both literal and metaphorical).

When Mars interacts with Admetus we have the following possibilities:

If Mars energy is wayward or not enough, an obstacle can stop us in our path. The  erratic and wayward movement of the giant container ship Ever Given before it beached and stopped all traffic on the Suez [1]  is an example of negative Mars energy obstructed and brought to a halt. Curiously, it is being reported that the ship movement drew out a giant phallus which is the astrological glyph for Mars!

The next example once again from Egypt is the train accident apparently after someone activated the emergency brakes. Once again we have Mars energy and movement brought to a sudden halt by an obstruction – in this case the brakes.

The final example is the more heartening news from Russia. Three nuclear submarines breaking through ice. Here the energy and power of the submarines used in a very positive way breaks through the ice obstruction.

No planetary configuration determines our future. It is our interaction with the pattern that decides the outcome.
