In mundane astrology, the cardinal ingresses of the Sun (entry into the four cardinal signs, i.e. 00 deg of Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn ) have a traditional reputation as important mundane events. These charts are so impressive that their progressions (especially in the related quarters) can mark important events during the year.
Shown here is the Aries ingress chart drawn for Jerusalem, Palestine. As always planets on the angles are the ones to focus on. Here on the MC is placed Venus [28pi] along with the Sun [0ar]. About this area, Diana Rosenberg writes: “aggression, calamities..sorrows and disasters that lead to reform and new beginnings,” as if anticipating a whole new start in upcoming Aries. On the Ascendant are the TNPs Hades-Kronos amid the stars of the Gemini Twins. (Note: Mars transited over the Ascendant on May 10, when the fighting began). The love-hate issues of the celestial siblings (both Israelis and Palestinians trace their roots to Abraham) are mirrored in events on Earth. The combination Hades-Kronos can be interpreted as “differences of opinion (Kronos) have led to a decline (Hades)”. As always under the Twins there are lessons of brotherhood versus racism and intolerance to be learnt. Fortunately also here are the stars of Columba – the Dove. For the Dove, Morse noted here “the ability to negotiate a peaceful solution to disputes”.
If we now progress the chart to May 21, notice that the nodal axis with Mars reaches the MC while the descendant begins a conjunction to Neptune. Here too the N.Node [14ge] and transit Venus [14ge] is conjunct stars of Columba – the peaceful Dove. And among other things Mars-Neptune is dissipation (Neptune) of anger (Mars), so that the chart does reflect the possibility of a ceasefire.
Finally, here is the chart for the exact time of the ceasefire. Notice the prominence of “compromising” Venus [14ge] on the IC conjunct omicron Columba – in the peace loving Dove’s wing!
