Astrology of the India-Pakistan Kartarpur 'peace corridor'

The Kartarpur Corridor is a border crossing and religious corridor, connecting the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Pakistan to the border with India. The crossing allows devotees from India to visit the gurdwara in Kartarpur, 4.7 kilometres (2.9 miles) from the India–Pakistan border on the Pakistani side without a visa.

The corridor was completed on 9 November 2019. In his address at the opening, Pakistan PM Khan said "Pakistan believes that the road to prosperity of the region and bright future of our coming generation lies in peace", adding that "Pakistan is not only opening the border but also their hearts for the Sikh community".

Astrologers believe that significant cosmic events accompany major changes on earth. Presented here is the chart for the July 3, 2019 solar eclipse that preceded the opening of the corridor for pilgrims and aligned significantly with the meridian. Notice the South Node (past belief systems or patterns of living that need to be given up) conjunct Saturn-Pluto on the MC.

Saturn, is the archetype of authority and in its darkest face, what astrologer Steven Forrest calls the "crushing patriarch." Both Capricorn and Saturn symbolize systems and structures which seek to preserve their dominance at any cost. Pluto, as Lord of the underworld, always brings the authentic or real self to the surface. With the Pluto-Saturn conjunction in Capricorn, we get to manifest some of what has been typically kept under wraps because of hidden fears, internal taboos, shame, intimidation or ignorance of our potential.

The Saturn-Pluto combination is opposite the eclipse New Moon and the TNPs Hades-Kronos which translates to a need to recognize that “laws and authoritative action had made things worse”.

The eclipse and the TNPs Hades-Kronos are conjunct the stars Tejat and Alhena.

Tejat will bring forth that which has been suppressed to be seen and in doing so may draw experiences that are reflections of parts of our selves that seem rather dark and opposing to our unfoldment. Tejat asks that us be willing to walk through the shadows of self to claim our power and place in the physical world.

Alhena, the left foot of Pollux, lies in the midst of sidereal Gemini. Alhena represents "commencement" and inspires us to act on our greater soul truth and purpose. It indicates a milestone or a turning point has been reached and indicates the need to get off of the fence of indecision, to drop any hesitation, as the "time is at hand" to go forth anew. Nick Fiorenza.

Resonating with the need to release the past is the star Acamar on the Ascendant:

Acamar, Theta 1,2 of ERIDANUS, is a primary stop or stoppage along the long and winding river of Life. Acamar is the dam, and indicates that emergence from the belly of Cetus (the technobureaucratic monster of collective human consciousness) requires a breakthrough that will lead us from the foul digestive juices of Cetus and into a greater freedom of being.

Is it a coincidence that a positive development like the opening of the Kartarpur corridor is taking place while India’s horoscope is going through a major progression “directed ascendant conjunct Saturn-Pluto”. Readers are referred to a previous post [1] where the meaning of this progression was dealt with in detail.

“So why is this placement in India’s chart significant now? Well, for one thing the progressed solar arc Ascendant [13le] (evolving consciousness) has reached a conjunction to the radix Saturn-Pluto [13le] (history). Evolving consciousness of the people must confront problems rooted in the past” [1].

In conclusion let me just say that the opening of the Kartarpur corridor is a big step in the right direction.
