Algol eclipse inspires neurological cure

Snakes in Medusa’s head - symbol of illness as well as cure

School of Medicine researchers have developed a noninvasive way to remove faulty brain circuits that could allow doctors to treat debilitating neurological diseases without the need for conventional brain surgery. The UVA team, together with colleagues at Stanford University, indicate that the approach, if successfully translated to the operating room, could revolutionize the treatment of some of the most challenging and complex neurological diseases, including epilepsy, movement disorders and more. The approach uses low-intensity focused ultrasound waves combined with microbubbles to briefly penetrate the brain's natural defenses and allow the targeted delivery of a neurotoxin. This neurotoxin kills the culprit brain cells while sparing other healthy cells and preserving the surrounding brain architecture. https://www.sott.net/article/461609-Brain-surgery-without-a-scalpel

The astonishing breakthrough in the use of sound to cure complex neurological diseases was published by the School of Medicine, University of Virginia in a scientific paper on November 19 - the very day a lunar eclipse [27ta] occurred conjunct the star Algol in Medusa’s head. The mythology of Medusa depicts as an innocent woman who becomes insane after being raped by the god Poseidon [1]. Diana Rosenberg links Algol to post-traumatic-stress disorders and insanity. With the eclipse axis making hard aspect to the Ascendant it becomes significant for Charlottesville, VA - the location of the University.

The eclipse Sun [27sc] and Mercury [21sc] are amid stars of Ophiuchus and those in the the serpent’s head. Ophiuchus was identified with Asclepieion (or Asklepieion), the great healer, while the serpent because of its ability to shed its skin and grow a new one was known for its powers of regeneration and change. (Note: the snakes in Medusa’s head therefore symbolize both mental illness as well as its cure.)

The eclipse Sun and Moon make hard aspects to the Ascendant which is conjunct the TNP Zeus and asteroids Hygiea and Siwa. Martha Wescott [2] provides the following definitions:

ZEUS: Restrained or creative fire/energy; enthusiasm; controlled & directed forces (thus both planning and controlling strong emotions;) guns, power tools, machines, motors, fireplaces, fuels; excitement; to incite; military; blood pressure; inflammation; ability to harness energies for accomplishment.

HYGIEA: Medical concerns and health.

SIVA: also SIWA: Episodic, catabolic (breakdown/through) process that precedes insight; destruction of density/fixated beliefs (relative to aspects); crisis of death (stagnation) or regeneration; The Far East (inc. Vietnam, India, China, Malaysia, Japan;) periodic occurrence; ascetic;  sound.

If the eclipse is about healing and repairing (Ophiuchus and Serpent) mental states of insanity(Algol) its aspect to Zeus-Hygiea-Siwa is pointing to the possible use of sound (Siwa) in a machine that concentrates or localizes (Zeus) energy for addressing health issues (Hygiea).

Further the news states that the cure includes “neurological diseases, including epilepsy, movement disorders”. Notice that the eclipse Sun is conjunct the asteroid Terpsichore [23sc] defined as:

TERPSICHORE: flexibility; coordination, agility, grace and mobility; flexion muscles; gestures.

Finally, this post offers an opportunity to illustrate the little known use of superimposing draconic chart positions on tropical positions. For example here the draconic position of the asteroid Psyche [11cn28] is conjunct the radix position of tropical Hades [11cn28] both aspecting the eclipse.

PSYCHE: raw wounds psychologically; vulnerability; memories; insight; psychic impressionability; psychological recovery; the state of your “mental health;” head wounds; brain states.

HADES: Deterioration.

Hades-Psyche: Events related to deterioration of brain states.
