Chile elects its youngest-ever president

Former student protest leader Gabriel Boric has defeated conservative Jose Antonio Kast in Chile’s presidential election, becoming the nation’s youngest leader in modern times. Kast conceded defeat on Sunday with Boric holding a sizable lead – at around 55% to 45% -- with more than two-thirds of the votes counted. Boric, 35, has pledged to expand Chile’s social programs, nationalize the pension system and raise government revenue through taxes on the massive mining companies that operate in the country. https://on.rt.com/bnj2

A person for whom the universe is meaningful views all events as elements of a supremely ordered whole . No situation or event is out of place. Each event gives form to the prevailing planetary patterns. Astrologers, therefore, routinely cast horoscopes for exact planetary aspects to determine their influence at any specific place.

The tension between Saturn and Uranus in 2021 is the defining astrological theme of the year. Saturn and Uranus form three exact square aspects that stretch across all of 2021: the first on February 17, the second on June 14, and the third on December 23.

At Santiago, Chile the third Saturn-Uranus square straddles the meridian implying that its energy will be felt strongly at the place. Astrological "squares" are known for creating tension between two points — and with this one involving Saturn, the Planet of government and authorities, and Uranus, the Planet of Freedom and Rebellion, things can get intense. In the best case scenario the tension between the changes that need to happen and the obstacles, roadblocks, and resistance to that change, eventually wake us up to face the truth, address the breakdown, break away from a bad situation, or fix what isn’t working.

The news of the election comes at the Full Moon of Dec. 19 which is very significantly aligned with the meridian at Santiago. The Sun/Moon midpoint [27pi28] is conjunct the Admetus/Pluto midpoint [28pi52]. Martha Wescott interprets the combination as:

Admetus/Pluto: to come to recognize what can no longer be endured - and to deal with the accrued consequences of having pushed the self too far; to see that things reach critical mass - in other words, although one has been able to stand up under increasing pressure, the burden becomes too great and there must be some relief/release.

PS: At times events in the natural world parallel those in our lives. For example look at the Full Moon chart drawn for the location of Mount Semeru, Indonesia currently in eruption. Notice that here too the Full Moon is aligned with the meridian - the position of the luminaries are reversed.
