Comet Leonard aligns with Venus and Pluto

Comet Leonard melting as it approaches the Sun

Comet Leonard (C/2021 A1) is bright again. On Dec. 20th, astronomers witnessed an outburst from the comet's core. In a matter of hours, it multiplied in brightness almost 10-fold. "Tonight it was clearly visible as a 'star' to the left of Venus," reports Jan Hattenbach, who sends this picture from La Palma in the Canary Islands: "I estimate magnitude 3 or brighter," he says.

The outburst might signal a fragmentation event in the comet's core. This would come as no surprise. The comet is heading for its closest approach to the sun (0.61 AU) on Jan. 3rd. Increasing heat may be liberating new jets of gas and dust from the comet's core--or worse, blowing away huge chunks of ice and rock. https://bit.ly/3mxRyce

On Dec. 19th /20th the ecliptic longitude of Comet Leonard (C/2021 A1) was [27cp] conjunct both Pluto and retrograde Venus about [26cp].

With Venus-Pluto we are learning more about "Love" in terms of "control, obsession and--shall we say--capitalizing on another's vulnerabilities." Some others may value money too much--as a replacement for love--as a manipulative tool. Actually, there is some incredible potential here, but it will take some soul-searing and some soul-searching to get there. And that is: to become aware of :

(1) the transformative power of love,

(2) to allow love to teach you about respect for the rights, needs and values of others,

(3) to see that love means integrity and emotional honesty and trustworthiness, and

(4) to learn the difference between love and control.

There may be tests that require that you confront yourself (or others) about how psychological scars are affecting your understanding of relationship and money; there may be times when, even though you care about someone, you have to "let them be"--let them, in essence, find their own fate . You may need to redefine love to separate it from unhealthy dependencies and emotions; you may see that people "in love" can destroy or redeem each other (and it's hard to tell one from the other for a period of time.) You may also recognize that, under the banner of loving, people can test another's limits, push them away, play emotional games, try to drag them down, or feel that they've got to be Super (and suprA) Human.

As they warm, comets release gases, but what does this represent? The release of ideas and emotions? Interestingly, 'to release' could also mean 'to be freed'.

The Chinese call them 'the broom star', usually associating them with bad luck. But we should remember that brooms are for cleaning and sweeping away unnecessary stuff, which we must do to make room. We could say that this is inevitable – new chances are brought forth through destructive forces.

The Chinese called comets 'hui xin'. 'Hui' is equivalent to 'wisdom'. Interestingly, in Chinese we always say "wield the sword of wisdom to cut away the attachment". Wisdom is like a sword, and comets are obviously a symbol of a treasure sword. From images, symbolisation of what we observe in life, is it possible that comets are an implication of the birth of new wisdom? Do they indicate where we should impart our wisdom? Are they a chance for us to cut certain bonds and attachments so that we can let new things come into our lives? [1]

Finally, let me add that the triple conjunction of the Comet Leonard - Venus - Pluto is taking place on the Sibly radix Pluto in the 2nd house so perhaps the US too is learning a few lessons about obsession with money!

Perhaps the areas ruled by the mundane 2nd house are in a major overhaul:

The nation's assets and financial status. The treasury, the exchequer, revenue and all places and activities concerned with money-making; such as banks, the stock exchange, financial institutions, money markets and trade. [2]
