Horoscope of Jordan Peterson

People on stairs graduated upwards

I recently resigned from my position as full tenured professor at the University of Toronto. I am now professor emeritus, and before I turned sixty. Emeritus is generally a designation reserved for superannuated faculty, albeit those who had served their term with some distinction....There were many reasons, (for resignation) including the fact that I can now teach many more people and with less interference online. But here's a few more: First, my qualified and supremely trained heterosexual white male graduate students (and I've had many others, by the way) face a negligible chance of being offered university research positions, despite stellar scientific dossiers. This is partly because of Diversity, Inclusivity and Equity mandates (my preferred acronym: DIE). These have been imposed universally in academia, despite the fact that university hiring committees had already done everything reasonable for all the years of my career, and then some, to ensure that no qualified "minority" candidates were ever overlooked. https://bit.ly/3rw98PI

Jordan Peterson’s horoscope as provided by Astro-Databank [1] is reproduced here. What strikes us immediately is the recent passage of Pluto over the Capricorn MC.

Pluto’s transit through Capricorn is serving to break outmoded and artificial standards, to decimate the hypocrisies of social convention, and of social extremes. It also brings emphasis to address patterns of avoidance or fears to relinquish diminishing modes of living, or fabricating reasons justifying disempowerment and inaction by blaming external conditions. This requires determination and conviction to willingly choose to live authentically and from true heart's passion.

If in this period we have recognized some facet of our social system that has forced us to behave against our inner grain, Pluto’s transit will bring this to our attention. If we have a history of defiant, Plutonian eruptions against rules and authority, we are warned to exert self-control and discipline . On the other hand, and this is the more likely scenario, most of us have not been too aggressive with our Plutonian drives. In this case defiance and rage have not been a part of our repertoire in dealing with power and authority, then this Pluto transit allows us the transformative option of bringing more of our Pluto potential into a concrete, workable form . We get to manifest some of what has been typically kept under wraps because of hidden fears, internal taboos, shame, intimidation or ignorance of our potential.

Since the Jan.18 Pluto Full Moon aligned with Peterson’s radix meridian, material that was so far repressed has come out in a purgatorial discharge. Remember Pluto is like a volcano erupting (recall Tonga). So this is certainly a very positive manifestation of the Pluto Full Moon.

Next take a look at his Saturn return to its radix position which is the apex of a T-square with Mars-Hades-Neptune. With Hades-Neptune, there is danger that compassion (Neptune) might interfere with discrimination (Hades). Here Saturn provides objectivity making one aware of any idealistic or unrealistic appraisal of a situation. Moreover, being the apex planet in the T-square, it holds the key to a resolution of the conflicting energies. Surprisingly, the Sabian symbol [2] for Saturn appears to contain the answer which of course Peterson’s has been advocating:

Aquarius 12 (11° - 12°): ON A VAST STAIRCASE STAND PEOPLE OF DIFFERENT TYPES, GRADUATED UPWARD

WE ARE NOT ALL EQUAL

However spiritually inspiring it may be to think that we are all of the same worth and level of attainment, the truth is that it is not so.

If there is to be personal spiritual progression then there must necessarily be steps upwards and a sense of hierarchy in recognition that others are more advanced and standing where one day we can stand. This spiritual hierarchy is in contrast to the egalitarian philosophy of democracy.

On Jan.18 Uranus [10ta] stationed direct on the radix Mars [10ta] - a sure sign that a time for seeking freedom from constraints had come.
